Re: POLL, do you have better qualifications than your parents?I would like to have better qualifications than my parents, but that will be difficult when my mother has 2 (or 3?) masters and is planning to apply for a PhD this summer.....
(maybe one day, if I choose to be academic and go into university research etc I will have better qualifications? although it is unlikely) -

Re: POLL, do you have better qualifications than your parents?well my mother has an A level which is the level of qualification I have completed at the moment but she has one and I have 4 so I would say I have "better" qualifications than her
my dad has a hnc I think or a hnd (not sure which) so he currently has a higher level of qualification than me but I am partway through a degree so will eventually have a higher level than him. He is however considering doing a part time university course to get a degree and I have no current plans to do any postgraduate study so we might end up having the same level , but in different things. -

Re: POLL, do you have better qualifications than your parents?I've better qualifications than my mother. She left education altogether after her GCSEs.
My father is easily ahead of me but I don't actually know what his qualifications are - I just know that they're vocational. He left school with one GCSE, went straight into work and has the strongest work ethic I've ever seen... in almost 25yrs he's only missed three weeks of work: one for compassionate leave and two where the work doctor insisted he stay at home. -

Re: POLL, do you have better qualifications than your parents?Dad is a fellow of the textile industry (if you are going to make a joke about my location and my dad having a textile qualification then I'd like to hear it ..... I.Would.Like.To.Hear.It), my mum has a diploma in art and design.
I will soon have A levels, I'm not sure. -

I got the same UG class as both, but in a better subject/uni. I will gain a fake masters in a while, however they both have phds, and are professors, so academically have me there. I'm probably studying for a more financially rewarding qualification than them now though..

My mother yes (completed her Bachelors a couple years ago) my father, we're equal (Master's degree)
My sister also has a Master's degree.
However there are a few people in my family with PHD's and a couple medical doctors, so I won't be the most accomplished in my family

Re: POLL, do you have better qualifications than your parents?I have a 2:2 MEng in Automotive Engineering with Sustainability and my Dad has a 2:2 LLB in Law so higher level of qualification though not necessarily better. He has various professional qualifications and chartership but I intend to match those with equivalent engineering ones.
