Re: Northumbria 2013 Applicants
About to start on my UCAS app for 2013, Northumbria's going to be my first choice.
Will be heading to the next open day, early in October. Will have to get my mam to drop me off because I don't have a clue where the Uni is, lol.
Anyone who's already been to one, did you go with your parents? I haven't decided if I should, yet. I took my mam to my college open day and all she did was gossip.
Will be doing Human Geography

Re: Northumbria 2013 Applicants
I am desperately wanting to go to Northumbria University!
However they dropped a bombshell today when I emailed the advisor of admissions, I will not be accepted with the grades I have(2 c's, 1 D and 2 b's in general studies and epq) including all this i have 320 ucas points, but without general I have 270 ucas which is short by 10 for applying for education!
This is the most frustrating thing for me as I have a great personal statement and even a tutor for children in maths and english. It's even more fustrating that Northumbria state that they will individually look at a persons qualifications and personal statement and make a judgement when the admissions officer is not doing this! Is anyone else struggling with this issue?
As i am a tutor I would find it very hard to find time to resit the D. -
Re: Northumbria 2013 ApplicantsOne thing i'm doing at the moment is something called an 'Extended Project' which is basically something completely done by you and consists of about 1 essay and 1 power point presentation and you can do it on WHATEVER you want such as i am doing how horse riding helps disabled to develop. You need to give it a focus but can do it on whatever. And it shouldn't take long to do. And in the end it gives me around 20 or more extra ucas points. Juse in case, so perhaps look in to something like this? felt quite sorry for you so thought i'd give some kind of reply. Hope this helps in some way!(Original post by Luw6)
