    'something more between us'...
    Hi,

I have been friends with this guy for years now. We met through a friend and we haven't met up much over the past few years due to me going to uni and stuff but we do get along well and have alot in common. We have gone through stages of talking alot to then not talking for a preiod of time just out of being busy I guess.

Over the past month we have spoken quite a bit more and have met up a few times. Today we were talking and he told me he thinks I am attractive, clever, friendly, cute and has even wondered if there was something between us occasionally, but isn't sure whether there is or not. He said he likes hanging out with me so is happy to do that for now and if he likes me then he will tell me.

I tend to overthink this sort of stuff because I tend to get it wrong. Does this sound more like he feels romantic/sexual chemistry towards me or just that he thinks there is a potential for it.. This whole friendzone thing is confusing!

    1) Do you like him in that way? I think it's important to get that across at some point

    2) Is he physical with you? E.g. touches your arm, holds you, etc.

I think in situations like this, it's important to know where you both stand

I'm not sure if I do or not. I find him attractive and I like his company and talking to him. Not really sure what he means by 'I have wondered if there is something more there'

Aw he's trying to get into your knickers.

FYI I don't imagine many people would say stuff like that unless they already know they want a piece.

So you reckon its just a sexual attraction thing?

If he's keeping you on the edge like this and not being straight up, he might not ever be anything more than a friend. It has been my experience that when a guy says something like this, he is trying to keep his options open yet have you as a 'landing pad' in case things don't work out.

I know it's hard, but don't let yourself be left in limbo. You deserve more. Sure, test the waters and continue to hang out. If he continues to be wishy-washy, however, cut your losses. I wish I had learned this earlier.

    Good point.
So the 'I have wondered occasionally if there is something more between us' is just a sexual attraction on his part?

i think what studentus-anonymous meant is that this guy has obviously decided that he likes you, as people don't just randomly say things like that otherwise.

liking you = for your mind AND for your body. deal with it
