Love it so far. I want to have a landscape homescreen though - guess I need to root for that?

There's an app that can manage it, £1.69 for the full version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....fameit.rotate

I played with that for the 7 day trial. I found the homescreen a tad 'weird' in landscape. No idea why, it just felt wrong! Also, I changed the DPI on my Nexus so I could test out the Tablet UI. Don't bother. Everything is *so* small! Still quite usuable I guess, but I found it a chore more than anything!

Alas, I too want a decent landscape homescreen. I guess I'll be flashing Cyanogenmod 10 whenever it gets released!

The current preview build of CM10 is pretty much flawless, I'd get it now if I were you, I have it running on my H1X and N7.

I'm a vanilla type of guy, so I'm loving the default operating system. Due to the fact that I own an iPhone, I'm quite surprised at how good the tablet is. The only thing missing is a music store.

I'm tempted to buy a Galaxy Nexus as my next phone now.
    Ditto.

I think I will hold fire until the Galaxy Note 2 announcement.

There are a few out there. Amazon's MP3 Store is pretty good and there is an android app. Shame we miss out on the cloud storage, though. 7Digital also have an app.

There is always options, which I why I love Android!

I wouldn't be surprised if the note 2 came with ICS with its crappy Touchwiz UI, I am definitely avoiding it.

    Hey guys.

I know that it doesn't support flash, so does that mean i can't watch football matches on-line? Also, does that mean i can't watch videos on other websites excluding you-tube?

Finally, if i do root.. How much extra storage can i get?

    Thanks.

That depends on how the videos are embedded on the site. Sites using HTML 5 should work fine, for example.

Also, there are some workarounds that can get Flash working to at least some extent if you feel that you need it. I've found this guide from a quick Google: http://www.howtogeek.com/120277/how-...-bean-devices/

Got a Nexus 7 here too

Anyone got/found a decent case for this yet? I was hoping for something similar to Apple's foldy up case stand thing. =\

What do people think of the specs of this Time2 tablet in comparison? There is an offer to get it for £80 at the moment!

In short, pretty poor. Until the Nexus 7 came along there were very few sub-£200 tablets worth getting, and that still rings true really. The screen res alone sets off alarm bells. If you can afford the N7, it's definitely going to be worth paying the extra in my opinion.

A colleague of mine has one similar to that. I'll ask where he got his from when I see him.

The only thing that worries me about the Nexus7 is the lack of apps. Is it as up to scratch as the iPad apps? At the end of the day, thats where the tablet markets' home is

    Simple answer: no.

Comparable apps are far smoother on the iPad than any Android device, for one reason of another. Fifa 12 on Android doesn't have career mode, but the iOS app does. I believe that says it all.

I can't remember what the exact figures are, but iOS are still quite a way ahead in terms of number of apps. However gone are the days when Android was lacking.

I think the tablet is good in terms of price, but it needs the backing of app developers and investment into the play store. It all comes down to the software. This is why apple would have a great shot if they brought out an iPad mini, although its not likely

No they wouldn't, because the screen res would have to be 1024 by 768, which is appalling.

Nexus 7 is 1280x800. Couldn't an iPad mini at least match that?
    iPad 2 had 1024x768 on a 9.7", so a 1024x768 on a 7" can't be that appalling, could it?
