Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!I actually thought the iPhone 4 was markedly superior to the S2 from the time I spent with both, it wasn't anywhere near as fluid and intuitive in my opinion.(Original post by burgergetsbored)
For the price, no I don't think iphone is GREAT value for money, it's okay but thats as far as I'd go. My galaxy S2 was £6 cheaper a month when it came out and look how much better than the iphone 4 that is! -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!Pretty sure you've been able to access USB storage on tablets since the launch of Honeycomb(Original post by burgergetsbored)
I've got some bad news, apparently it doesn't support flash drives according to google! Usb mouses and keyboards are fine but not external storage! I know it's a software problem but no idea if google will fix it or you'll need to use a custom ROM :/

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!I know really disappointing :/ but if you ask them they'll reply saying what I said. Might just be them being stupid atm, but don't get your hopes up if that was your plan.(Original post by Gofre)

I guess the OS is up to opinion, I've found android to be much more fluid than my old iphone. But what I meant was the hardware of the galaxy S2 is superior to the iphone 4. -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!Do you mean does it have anything the S2 doesn't have, or any features that the two have when used together?(Original post by diggy)
Does it have any special functionality with the Samsung galaxy s2 -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!yeah anything really the reviews i've read havent mentioned anything(Original post by Gofre)

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!Trust me I've used both a Kindle and an IPS screen tablet. Because I read inside, and usually unlit rooms, it's fine. The Kindle is slow and unresponsive, and has poor PDF support.(Original post by theronkinator)
You'll be very disappointed using any tablet for reading, the screens are horrible for it. -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!(Original post by noisy06)
What do you mean? Is it similar or better than reading on smartphone, because I read things on my google smartphone and I have no beef with it.I'm happy for you, I never mentioned a Kindle though.(Original post by JOR2010)

Tablets, LCD/IPS screens are horrible to read on, backlit so hurts your eyes after a while, reflection etc. E-ink is miles ahead, much easier to read. I have both a tablet and ebook reader, wouldn't dream of reading on the tablet. It's well known that e-ink is a million miles ahead for reading, hence the booming ereader market.
I agree most ereaders lack decent pdf support (it's a poor file anyway), but for any other format or reading they are worlds ahead. -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!More than likely, especially so if you took advantage of cloud storage. I'd say you only need 16GB if you want to use it as a primary media device.(Original post by olympus123456)
Would nexus 7 8gb be sufficient enough if I use it for reading e-books, articles, skype, writing office documents and presentations ? or would I have to go for 16 gb ? -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!Agreed. I have never needed any mobile/tablet with more than 16GB of storage.(Original post by mikeyd85)

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!ya i will be linking it to google drive and box. Not much interested in media except for using camera in chatting through skype. 16 gb is just £40 more but they both seem to fairly priced.(Original post by mikeyd85)

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!Agreed. They're gunna sell like hot cakes. I'm certainly going to get one, though Ill probably wait a month before I do - let the bugs get ironed out and all that.(Original post by olympus123456)

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!I guess it's a matter of opinion to a slight extent. I mean I can read perfectly without any eye pain on a backlit IPS screen for ages. Yes it would be better on a E-ink device though, but maybe just because "backlit so hurts your eyes" doesn't mean it hurts everyones.(Original post by theronkinator)

I can't be arsed to pay for a kindle/E-ink device to read on if I had a tablet, especially seeing as pdf support on most are rubbish. -
Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!to be honest for the sake of £40 (that's if you have it) I'd go for the 16GB. After you've accounted for the system that 8GB is going to be about 5/5.5GB ish. Still plenty for E-books and stuff, but I'd feel much better having the 16GB knowing there is no expandable storage. Then again you could use cloud, but I've never been a big fan of that :P(Original post by olympus123456)

Re: Nexus 7 tablet amazing!I much rather have it physically on the device. I travel quite a bit so haven't always got wifi handy. And watching the videos from the cloud isn't great unless you have a decent connection. So no good at uni :P(Original post by olympus123456)
Why not ? -
Exactly, the e ink screen is lovely, but PDF support is absolutely pants. Pinch to zoom? Ha.(Original post by burgergetsbored)
