traffic cone
Woke up this morning and found a traffic cone in my garden. The garden is open, with only a small path leading from the street and a gate that doesn't close properly, so I presume someone just got in and, for whatever reason, decided to leave a traffic cone behind. Problem is that i've checked, and apparently you can get a £5000 fine for pinching a traffic cone. I think that if I just go into the police station and say 'I've got a traffic cone here' I'll look suspicious as all hell, and I really don't fancy paying a massive fine and getting a criminal record, so what the hell do I do with it?

Re: traffic coneI don't know where in my town it came from. I could just dump it in the street outside my house, I suppose, but that would effectively block off the road.(Original post by Left Hand Drive)
Put it back in the street..... -
Re: traffic cone
Really, you're worried about a fine?
I once woke up after a heavy night out, fully dressed (boots and all), with two traffic cones in my room. How I got them through the house without waking anyone up is beyond me, but I was very impressed with my mad ninja skillz, as was my mother.
I'd love to know what happened to those cones... -
Re: traffic cone
Just phone the council and say it has been thrown in your garden and they need to come and collect it. Ask for them to record that you have contacted them and then if anyone attempts to fine you £5000 (which is very, very unlikely - councils/police have bigger fish to fry) you will be in the clear because you have reported it and made it clear it was nothing to do with you.
Don't worry - it is only a traffic cone. -
Re: traffic conePfft, no statue is ever too tall for a cone to be crowned upon it!(Original post by hungryaardvark)
only statue we have that could work for is on a 9-foot pedestal, and is itself about 6 foot tall. I'd need a scissor lift or something
