My purse has been stolen with my NUS and Driving License.
Apart from £20 which I have given up ever seeing again, this was all that was in there as I was on my way out for a night out. This is also all the Photo ID I have.

I'm hoping to go out tomorrow night, but of course am now lacking in ID. My Mum doesn't trust me with my passport (I think you can see why, but I've never lost anything while out before), so the only thing I have is my old passport? It only expired a month ago, will this still be usable?

I don't know what else to do

Yes, only the most overzealous places will reject an old passport (Wetherspoons etc, but not your local student scumhole)

Daymn, I will be going to Spoons We only have that kind of places where I am If I take things with my name on as extra back up could that prove it? I don't understand why it should be rejected, it still proves I'm eighteen!

As long as your passport still looks like you, you should be fine. Maybe take a bank statement or a copy of your birth certificate to prove it's you? My friend got away with a validate card as she took a copy of her gas bill and birth certificate. Depends on the type of place and how nice door security are though

Yeah I think I'm going to take my old passport, but with a photocopy of my new one, and just say I didn't want to bring it out, and take a couple of store cards as extra proof. Don't want to take my card out as no doubt I'lk do something stupid with it!

TBH, I can't see them accepting it. Even though it is proof of age it's no longer considered 'valid' which is the part they get you on. I don't understand it either but I was rejected by Spoons for it, also was rejected by Tesco and other clubs. Stupid but there is not a lot you can do but try it I suppose.

But if I have a photocopy of my real one it's still valid proof of age I just don't want to take my real one out?
