Is worrying about exam results a good or bad thing?
So, I did my final GCSE exam on Wednesday and although it went well, I'm still extremely worried and I keep thinking that come August 23rd, I'll be disappointed with my grades rather than pleased. I think I tried my best with all my exams and I've got the fear of working hard but then failing. I just want to pass Art, English Language, English Literature, Religious Studies and Sociology but I'm scared something will go wrong. I'm not that bothered about Maths as I KNOW I failed that exam and although, the Citizenship and Information Technology exams weren't as hard as I expected, I don't know whether I'll pass both subjects. My sisters and my friends tell me that I should enjoy my summer and not worry about the results but whenever I stop thinking about GCSE results, I feel bad and I feel as though I no longer care about my education. But then when I start thinking and worrying about GCSE results, I feel paranoid, frustrated and upset.
So that brings me to my question: Is worrying about GCSE exam results a good or bad thing? -
Re: Is worrying about exam results a good or bad thing?
If you worry, you will get the grades you earned.
If you don't worry, you will still get the grades you earned.
Worrying about it will make absolutely no difference to the outcome - although I know it's easier said than done to not worry.
Good luck! -

It's not a good thing, it's not a bad thing, it's just a thing. Loads of people worry about results, even if they have done brilliantly, it's just natural. There's nothing you can do to stop it except finding a way to keep your mind busy. Just sit back, relax, results day will come around before you know it.

Re: Is worrying about exam results a good or bad thing?
I have this tried and tested theory where if I worry about my exam results, I always do well, and if there are any exams I do not worry about, I end up doing quite crap in them.
So my friend the conclusion is, its good to worry/be concerned A LITTLE bit, not so much that you ruin your summer. Nothing wrong in being concerned, but this should only last for:
2 days after the exams, and 2 days before results day. lol

Goodddd luckkkk -
Re: Is worrying about exam results a good or bad thing?
One thing you seriously need to worry about is the fact you think you failed GCSE maths. Now that is something to worry about!
Most small jobs even want a C in GCSE maths so you should be worrying about that if you think you failed it. Apart from that a little healthy worrying is exactly that - healthy. -

Worrying can be good because this shows that you care about your grades and your education in general.
Worrying (especially excessive worrying) is also a bad thing, because it can interfere with your health and wellbeing, e.g. not sleeping, not eating etc.
This is what i always say. Worrying will not change the outcome of your results. You did your best and that's all anyone can expect from you and if you did your best i'm sure you will get the grades you want! I certainly do! Have more faith in yourself!

You'll get fewer and fewer chances in life to have 9-10 weeks off where you can do what you want, enjoy this chance and try and put the results to the back of your mind. If you've screwed up then it's not really that bigger deal, as long as you stay focused and achieve the grades you want at A Level. A Levels do matter, GCSE's don't matter too much, unless you've got Oxbridge in mind.
