Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?
I'm asking because I'm a 32''/ 34'' and went to look at some skinny chinos from Topman tried on the size 32'' skinny and they were REALLY, REALLY tight could hardly fit into them. I could only fit into a size 36'' waist.
Really want to wear some skinny chinos but I'm at a complete lose now!! Is it just a case of me needing to loose weight or is it because my body shape does not suit skinny jeans or chinos? -
Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?
I don't know if I can give you a definite answer, but speaking from experience it could be that your body just doesn't suit them. Usually I only recommend people that have really skinny legs to wear skinny jeans because otherwise they just look big and stupid. If you find wearing skinny jeans in your natural waist size very tight then I'd recommend not wearing for both comfort and fashion's sake. I have pretty muscley legs because I've always played a lot of sport and that's naturally how I am so I tend to steer clear from the skinny jeans/chinos look because it doesn't suit me and looks silly.
The fashion at the minute in Topman etc seems to be very skinny jeans + chinos so I wouldn't be put off wearing chinos or maybe slim fit jeans, but maybe just leave it for a while from there? I know it's annoying when that's all they stock but there's plenty of places elsewhere to get great clothes from.
How would you describe your leg shape etc? -
Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?
I think it depends on the shop. For me, my ideal size if W28 L34 but unfortunately (apart from prim ark who has terrible fitting anyway) I can only get W28 L32 or W30 L34. With skinny jeans I usually go for the latter so they are definately long enough. I cam usually hide shorter length legs with slim fit or bootcut jeans, but because skinnys are so tight around the ankles, if they are too short, they look like I have grown like a weed and haven't bothered to get new trousers.
I know that seems a bit irrelevant, but I think it's length that's more importNt when finding skinny jeans. In terms of waist size, get something that is comfortable. I am comfortable with waist 28, but I go for the 30 because of the length. Skinny jeans look tiight regardless (unless you get something ridiculously big) so there's no need making yourself more uncomfortable to add a negligible effect.
If you are 32/35, I would go for W34 and find a suitable length

Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?Sort of similar to me, sounds like the skinny jeans/chinos aren't for you. You can try to wear them if you like but I just realised it looked stupid and like I was trying to follow some stupid trend when it didn't suit my body. I don't think it's simply a case of just losing weight either, since you can't spot reduce. Ultimately you will always have similar thighs/legs/bum relative to everyone else, just think about all the people who don't exercise but still have very skinny legs. It's genetics, and unfortunately you can't do much about it!(Original post by MHicks123)
Even though I'm not fat I've got huge thunder thighs and my bottom is sticks out!!
However, I'm trying to address this problem by going to the gym regularly.
As for the gym, it's great that you want to keep in shape, but please don't just do it so you can wear these jeans because at most you will probably lose a few inches off your thighs and setting yourself what will probably be an unattainable goal won't help moraleLast edited by Endless Blue; 29-06-2012 at 22:10. -

Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?No worries, like I said I know how it feels. Really wanted to wear skinny jeans last year but unfortunately couldn't. Just got to make the best of what you have, gym is great though! Hopefully I will start going soon because the amount of exercise I'm doing right now is shameful

Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?
You're so lucky!!
Do you manage to wear Topman chinos? I tried a pair from there the other day and my leg could hardley get past my thighs in a size 32" waist skinny chinos even though I am normally a size 32" /34" waist.
Is it just me or do you need legs the size of a twig to fit into Topman skinny jeans or chinos? -
Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?I don't wear chinos, and the skinnies I own aren't from topman. I did try a pair once, and yeah they were pretty tight even for skinnies. But I haven't tried enough to give you a good response :L(Original post by MHicks123)

Re: Mens skinny jeans or chinos - do you wear one size larger or the same size?Yes, you could be right. I'll try them. Just wish my body wasn't such a weird shape i.e. Slim but with a huge bum and thunder thighs!!!!!(Original post by Ryan_94)
Slim fit jeans may serve this purpose for you OP instead of skinny jeans.
