Dark Circles Under Eyes - Due to Allergy?
I have very dark circles under my eyes, they are inherited from my parents but mine are considerably darker in appearance and also a lot bigger/appear more swollen.
I googled causes of dark circles and found that allergies is a common cause, so I watched my diet carefully (I have a diet designed to add muscle.) I noticed that on the days I eat fish - tuna sandwich at 1pm followed by cod at around 6-7pm my eyes feel itchy and more swollen.
I have assumed that I am allergic to fish for the time being and have dropped it from my diet. But I was wondering if the blackness under the eyes is permanent or whether anything could be done to remove it or make them appear less darker. -
Re: Dark Circles Under Eyes - Due to Allergy?
I am the same as you. Mine are absolutely awful and they make me look ill despite the fact that I haven't been ill for several years. I think it is due to allergies too, because i'm always sneezing and my eyes are often itchy or inflamed. I've tried several things, eating more fruit and veg, eye cream and massaging, drinking more water, taking an antihistamine daily, getting more sleep (I am rarely short on sleep anyway) and nothing ever worked. They are still there. I wear concealer whenever I go out or when friends come over, and even then the fact that I have dark circles is still clearly evident, no matter how much of the stuff I apply. My parents don't have any dark circles though.
I have given up on all that and i am now waiting until I have enough money to see a dermatologist.Last edited by Llewellyn_J; 02-07-2012 at 22:33. -
