Black girls are given a hard time
I do feel that black girls are given a hard time. I see attractive black girls in the tube all the time.

Not all of them are unattractive, not all are stereotypical and ghetto. Why do people dislike all black girls. Surely there are a few gems?

I think that ridiculous prejudices have a way of finding an outlet through the keyboards of frustrated teenage boys.

    Representative bias.

People notice a FEW examples of one thing and believe that this is a general rule. Or even worse, they simply adopt stereotypes without even bothering to look, which would allow them to realise that their beliefs may not be true

The majority of the girls I have dated have been black, there are definitely more than a "few" gems  And in real life, I don't even hear the kind of trolling nonsense you here on TSR about black girls. In reality nobody I know cares about race, in fact it's more likely for a guy to have a thing for black girls than a thing against them.

    Myself included

Hiya! I'm a black girl and I actually dont think black girls are given a hard time at all. I think theres some obvious people who label black girls as certain things, however I think that a large percentage of black girls dont help themselves out. Sometimes I look at the other black girls in my college and I just think cant you just drop the act of being cool and talk to everyone. Besides that, when you get to know SOME of them they're really lovely. So yeah, black girls aren't given a hard time, they're just kinda treated how they appear to treat others.

PS I do hang around with some black girls but we tend to mingle with everyone.

I'm black and totally agree with you. A lot of black girls don't help themselves. They have an attitude problem and it shows in the way they behave. Also the type of styles some of them adopt aren't great, they look like they get dressed and have their hair and nails done at gunpoint.

Some white folks have no idea. No idea what black girls go through in regards to their hair. The pressure to appear to have 'straight' European looking hair. They should keep the afro hair instead of 'relaxing' it and using weaves. Afro hair is beautiful. Be black and proud!!!!

The media is BS. It's disgusting still how black people are represented on TV.

I'm not attracted to them but I treat them as regular people, obviously. Don't get what this hard time you talk about means.

OP, don't worry too much about the people who dislike black girls. There are plenty who do like them, so concentrate on them :yep:

    I have natural hair :wavey:

I was only relaxed in the past because my parents started relaxing it when I was 4. I think sometimes it's more of an issue with maintenance rather than wanting to look European or Asian.

As a black girl, I have to somewhat agree with the OP. I find it incredibly hard to date, because a lot of people ''assume'' I am this loud, obnoxious individual, when in fact I am the complete opposite; very quiet, career driven and not obsessed with weave and making sure I have the wackiest nail design. I find it sad that there are still prejudices around, when all it takes is just talking to discover not every black girl is the same :dontknow:.

I do not care what nationality you are, or where you come from, as long as religion is not imposed onto myself. Racism works both ways in my opinion.

Every race and gender has a section of knobheads. I could easily make a similar statement about white girls.

Black girls go through torture in regards to their hair. They should keep the afro hair instead of 'relaxing' it and using weaves. Afro hair is beautiful. Be black and proud!!!!
It's naive to think that black girls' problems come from issues with their hair. Obviously there are some outrageous awful hairstyles that black girls have, but there's nothing wrong with a plain, black, tidy weave.

If people really want to understand where black girls' problems come from, lets turn to the role models many of these black girls have. We have beyonce, rhianna, nikki minaj, to name a few.

There's a whole culture shift that is required if black girls are to change their image.

    Where do you live?

Have you seen the black inner city school girls in London during rush hour in the mornings? I hang my head in shame at their loud obnoxious behaviour, it's embarrassing.

I live nowhere near London, but when I visit on day trips, and I get caught up in the tube traffic - I am a bit  lol
