How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
hopefully i'll be going uni this sept (grades provided ofc!) and was just wondering how much clothes should/did you pack; so i'm thinking 3 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs jeans, 3 hoodies, 2 jackets, couple of shirts etc something like this. is this too much/little ?

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
maybe its just me, but i'd imagine you'd want a fair bit more. You don't want people knowing your entire wardrobe after a week and a half, taking into account the fact that you'll have to change your top for a night out. Down to the individual though, i don't think i have that many clothes, but still managed to have a fair bit of variety....

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
Bring as much or as little as you like. Personally, I'm not bringing anything less than two suitcases worth because I know I'll kick myself at some point for leaving stuff behind! (and I have too many clothes) Also it means I have to do the washing less often
After helping my friends move in to halls, I realised that you can be sure that you will find people who way brought more or way less than you. Don't worry.

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
Seeing as I emptied out my entire wardrobe into a suitcase for a one month trip, I think the majority of my clothes will be coming with me. Also intend to buy some new stuff near the end of the holidays, provided I actually lose some damn weight. I'm a master of packing, my friends have concluded that I'm either Mary Poppins or a Time Lord.

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?Love this plan. Although 10 hours in the car with my sister (little brother isn't coming, heartless creature(Original post by M'Ling)
I did a Joey Tribbiani and wore all my clothes on the way there. At least I didn't have to pack much.
) with all my clothes on at once...*shudders* I'd die of overheating.

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
It's probably best to look at it as moving house, not going on holiday for a week. I took pretty much everything, except the stuff I never wear anyway, which amounted to a large suitcase (although it amounted to rather more than one suitcase when I came home at the end of first year!). You'll probably need a formal outfit for balls at Christmas / summer, a suit for interviews if you plan on getting a job etc. and the less stuff you take, the more often you have to do your laundry

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?
I took 2 good sized suitcases for everything- wardrobe, jammies, underwear, coats, everything. I always ended up wearing the same things anyway so you could probably get away with what you've written in your OP, but it's nice to be able to wear something different when you fancy a change, no?

Re: How much clothes did you bring to uni ?this. i've started to do this already, putting things i don't want on ebay. i have too many clothes, and i used to be all 'oh, i never wear this but maybe i will one day...' but the clearout has finally started!(Original post by Ohlavelle)
I am honestly probably just going to go through my wardrobe and sort everything into either 'take to uni' or 'get rid'. It's an excuse to have a clear out.
