Need Help With Alevel Choices! Urgent
    Hello There,
Well basically for Alevel Courses I'm stuck between several choices like :
    Psychology
    Economics
    Business
    Biology
    English Literature
    Sociology
    Information Technology (IT)

But I've picked Maths for sure, But need subjects that blend together because I haven't got a particular career in mind either go into psychology or business
    Any Advice Please !!

    I'd go for:

    Maths
    Psychology
    English Lit
    Economics or Business

But that's just me, do what you enjoy and what you think will benefit you the most.

I've just finished AS, personally I didn't like psychology (and am dropping it following results day), it was more about case studies than actual psychology and I found it really boring. Economics though, I found really interesting and depending on which exam board it is, the exams were quite easy. I'm doing AQA and the exams are always in the same format so technique is really easy to learn, you just need to know the content well and since all the content is very closely linked, that's not hard. As for the other subjects I have no experience with them, my other two are physics and maths.

sociology and business are the easiest and "softest" of those, psychology, economics, biology and english literature are hard subjects. IT is somewhere between the 2 categories. As long as you're not applying to Oxford/Cambridge you are fine in taking 1 soft and 3 harder subjects, try not to take more than 1 "soft" subject though

Also, you need to look on the Uni websites you are interested in to see if you need an A level in a particular subject to do a business course. I have no idea which they'd want really really but they usually list the necessary and advised subjects to do for a particular course on their prospectus.

EDIT: seriously? what's the neg for? This is the opinion of Universities, not just my own... Clearly the ones negging are the ones that have done lots of soft subjects...

Actually 1 soft subject probably won't hurt you wherever you apply.

I'd say do Biology as I'd imagine that would help a bit in the biological part of Psychology, then do Psychology since you're interested in it, and since you're interested in Business, do economics alongside Maths as it is more respected than Business studies.

Psychology - No idea what this is like but ties in with biology and maths well.
Economics - THIS. Economics is a good A level choice in my opinion. Links with maths.
Business - Not sure on the credentials of a business A level, But may be fairly similar to economics.
Biology - A science is always good, remember you could drop it for A2 if you decide business is more for you.
English Literature - This is a more core subject, But again, no link with maths, maybe a slight link with pshycology though.
Sociology - This is seen as very easy and im not sure on the enjoyment or the link with maths.
Information Technology (IT) - Dont take IT, a lot say dont bother.

So dont take IT, or sociology. The rest are good options, business ranking lowest, economics and biology ranking highest. Just my opinion though, go for things you enjoy and things you feel you would actually put time in to get a good grade.

Some places actually prefer it if you have some range, UCL springs to mind which actively prefer 1 humanities if you are doing medicine.

I wouldnt see anything wrong with that in terms of difficulty of subjects (especially if you took psychology rather than IT or dropped IT for A2)

Then its just a case of making sure you want to do those subjects...

Well if it was me, I'd go for sociology, psychology and ICT but obviously everybody is different.
I actually did Psychology, it's a really good subjects and sociology is supposed to be very good. My friends do ICT and they liked it but it all depends on what you'd like to do

I think it's ranked quite highly, compared to Sociology and IT anyway but not as high as the more 'traditional' subjects. I think it would benefit you if you want to take the subject to degree level.
