Am I going to get a ticket?
I was doing 44ish mph in a 40 limit, and coming over a blind rise on a bend was an 'Arrive Alive' speeding van.

Will I get a fine for this?!

Probably not, people often get away with 10% + 2mph over, but it can differ depending on the area. I would never use it to excuse speeding though.

Also, if the van was moving I don't think it can catch anyone.

    Hmm, interesting. Lol.

Reading off of your Speedo? It will probably be over reading slightly anyway. May just get away with it, but make a mental note of the spots you see those vans for next time!

I'm still within the first two years myself so I know what you mean. Depending on the area you were in also, you may be offered a speed awareness course. You just have to pay for the course; there are no points if you take the course.

Also worth mentioning different area have different speeding limits for these courses. i.e. someone doing something like 50 in a 30 won't get offered it.

EDIT: After checking the website, the limit for being offered the course is 10% +9 (42 in a 30).

Unlikely. If that was the speed on your speedo then don't worry about it. They tend to over-read a bit, so you were probably doing around 40 (according to gps and their cameras) anyway.

Like others have said, your speedo probably over-read it. Even if it didn't the police usually let you off a few mph.
