Who would you save from a burning building?
A terminally ill 63 year old man who has 3 days to live
A convicted rapist who is 17 years old
or a dog, a dachshund.
you can only choose one and the other two dont make it
-----------------------------------------------------------
Personally i would save the terminally ill bloke because he does not deserve to die in this manner and should have his family by his side. The rapist can burn for all i care as i dont believe he will turn his life around and a human life >> dogs life even if it is an extremely cute dachshund.Last edited by louisjevans; 01-07-2012 at 12:44. -
Re: Who would you save from a burning building?
I would choose the dog, because I feel personally that to commit a rape is unforgivable, so the 17 yr old isn't being saved. Also, as sad as it may be, the old man doesn't have long to live anyway. He's had his time. The main reason I would choose the dog is because it's most likely to bring lots of joy and happiness to someone else's life. Dog is man's best friend after all

Re: Who would you save from a burning building?
The old man is going to die very soon so no point. The dog is just a dog, not a big deal. I have to say I would save the young rapist as the others are not worth saving at all, and I dissagree with capital punishment so would not let him die if I could save him without risk to myself.

The convicted rapist easily. At this point we don't even know whether he actually committed the crime of rape, only that he's been convicted of it. A seventeen year old also has the potential to do wonderful things with his life for the betterment of humanity. The kid has potential.

The terminally ill man is dying, the rapist is evil and it isn't worth risking your life for a dog. -

None.

You are immortal, so who will you save?

Re: Who would you save from a burning building?
Dog, easily.
Terminally ill man wouldn't make it anyway.
The rapist is a horrible human being. Knowing the typical statistics, even if/after he serves his sentence, he likely won't do the world any good (he most likely will do the opposite). Unlike what someone else said, this isn't considered capital punishment. It's just a lack of desire to do something that I have no obligation to do. -
Re: Who would you save from a burning building?Again, for the purposes of this hypothetical scenario it can be assumed he is actually guilty. It can also be assumed that the terminally-ill man will die in three days and neither the two humans nor dog are too heavy/cumbersome and are guaranteed to survive if you choose to save them.(Original post by Dalek1099)
That still doesn't mean he did it.
