Is the acca qualification more important than the degree?

How many of the ACCA examinations can I be exempted from with a BSc in Accounting? I am currently in enrolled in University and I was planning to drop out to do CAT instead because I am not yet qualified for ACCA. I could get a CAT qualification faster than a degree and start doing ACCA exams but i would not be exempted from any ACCA exams. So, if a degree could exempt me from a reasonable number of exams, then it would be better to continue with the degree program. Also, I have just started University so it would not be much of a loss to exit now. Would like to know before I continue next semester
