to be fair to them if you were them wouldnt you? you dont want other companies out there taking away potential business especially when youre trying to build an empire
-
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionIndeed, they all do it.(Original post by cl_steele)

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionthe US courts are a joke theyll put any tit before a judge, take the lady who sued mcdonalds for serving her a hot coffee ...(Original post by Maxima)
Yeah, I guess I would but I wanna know how these dumb US courts grant these outrageous injunctions.
[slightly different scenario but hey ho
their justice system needs a serious over haul.. -
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionNot really. I would be confident enough in my product to know I do not need to participate in anti competitive practices to beat my competition.(Original post by cl_steele)

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionalthough it seems the EU is starting to take a somewhat harder approach to people monopolising they recently gave microsoft a good kicking and fined them something outrageous and are trying to do the same to google(Original post by f1mad)
Indeed, they all do it.

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionah well everyone to their own and all but personally id like to be extra sure and stamp out any competition just to make perfectly sure that they cant make a suprise come back, after all look at Nokia their fortunes have turned drastically lately and RIM arent doing to good either(Original post by . . .)

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionIndeed, and I'm very happy to see the EU courts do this.(Original post by cl_steele)

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionVery childish justification.(Original post by f1mad)
Indeed, they all do it.
"Why did you do it?"
"Everybody else was doing it..."
*followed by the inevitable jump off a cliff analogy* -
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionaye but considering their revenue for 2011 was just $60million short of $70billion this $1.2billion fine is a very small drop in a very large ocean, if theyre going to do try and prevent companies doing this theyve at least got to do a proper deterance, its like punishing your child by docking a couple of quid from their allowance, irksome but is going to do toss all in the long run..(Original post by f1mad)
Indeed, and I'm very happy to see the EU courts do this. -
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionSince when did Bill Gates become a fan of Apple?(Original post by Bill_Gates)
other phone makers need to come up with new designs. Simple!. Before patents couldnt be enforced as harshly so they all copied the flip phones. Now they are trying to copy the apple design just not happening.
I wasn't aware of this, but did most of you know Microsoft make up to $10 per Android phone (don't quote me on that number, but it's something like that) sold thanks to patent agreements between Google and Microsoft? I mean, at least Microsoft aren't idiots about it and just try to block sales, at least this way both companies benefit.Last edited by Maxima; 01-07-2012 at 01:07. -
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionIm not an apple fan boy. But apple has cornered the market other firms should not just copy or imitate the design. There are many other designs out there. You also need an excellent marketing team to pull it off. BRING BACK THE FLIP PHONE! or do a nokia where you have excellent features but in LOTS of different designs to meet everyones taste.(Original post by Maxima)

Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionI believe the reason Nokia is not leading the phone market is because they failed to improve their Ovi app store which was announced in August 2007 and released on August the following year. The apple app store was opened in July 2008 but they had the marketing and advertising power behind them unlike Nokia. Also Nokia was slow to develop any decent touch phones.(Original post by cl_steele)

And RIM just failed to move with the times. -
Re: Apple win ANOTHER injuctionIsn't going to happen though. This is what antitrust laws are for.(Original post by cl_steele)
