Is there really any difference between having a Visa or Mastercard card?
Just curious what [if] there are any differences between the two companies? they both process payments on behalf of the merchant/customer and both seem to be accepted near as damnit everywhere so is there really any difference between the two?

I assume you mean Visa credit card, not debit card?
The only real difference is any offers you get. As a basic example, Visa sponsor the Olympics, and you can only buy Olympics tickets using a Visa card, unless I've gone mad!
