    Games working slowly
    Hi,

I am trying to play to play fifa 12 and call of duty modern warfare 3 on my laptop but they are working slowly. They aren't working very slowly, they are well playable but i feel it should work a lot faster.

    I have this laptop.

Anyone knows why they aren't working in full flow or is there a way to make them run faster?

NB: I haven't tried other games, these two are the ones i have tried and both don't work at full flow. I did play fifa 12 on my laptop around 6 months ago but at that time it didn't used to have such troubles.

    Thanks

I have McAfee antivirus, it spots no virus. I also stop the real-time scanning of McAfee while running the game but still don't see a significant difference in game speed.

Uninstall any thing you don't use and clear out your hard drive. Check for viruses too.

But, I suspect it's your hardware is limiting you rather than viruses or a packed out hard drive. Laptops don't really have enough juice to run the latest games. If you haven't already, try reducing the graphics settings to the lowest.

Might be the NVIDIA Optimus glitch - where it doesn't switch correctly from integrated graphics to your 540M graphics. Fifa 12 and MW3 aren't the most demanding of games compared to say BF3 or Arma 2 so that's probably why the difference (FPS wise) isn't huge.

Look up the issue and try to do some troubleshooting to see if your GPU is actually being used. If not might have to call up where you got it from and ask them to repair it / replace.

To be fair I don't know too much about the glitch but AFAIK it should let you use your GPU during games correctly, so if it's not, time to make a call!

My hard drive has 370GB free, so i don't a problem with it.

I run periodic scans on my laptop and it shows no virus.

I believe that the hardware is good enough to run fifa 12 at the highest graphics setting.

I did played BF3 on my laptop a few months ago and it used to work perfectly fine.

A few months ago the only game that used to work slowly was GTA IV, and i know that it is a very graphics demanding game which will work slowly on most computers. Though it was still very playable.

Aah, not really sure then. I would say try BF3 again if you still have it, and if it runs as well as it did when you last played it, then it's probably not the Optimus glitch. But then again I have heard this glitch so only happen to certain games. Maybe the best thing to do is see if you can fix it without looking up the Optimus glitch but if nothing else fixes it then it may be the Optimus problem.

Make sure you don't have many background programs working, can divert performance.
