xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.
So, here we are again!
Photos posted in the "start" thread, now twelve weeks to prove that I can make a difference to my body.
My aim is to get rid of the rest of my excess fat once and for all. I only have ten more pounds to lose before my goal weight, so if I could reach that during this contest then that would be great.
Starting weight: 11st 6lbs (160).
I may not lose weight very quickly because I'm currently eating more to try to build a little muscle as well. But I'm hoping that I will be able to get the balance right so that I can still lose weight overall for now.. if that makes sense.
So anyway, good luck everyone else who's entered, and I will use this blog as a diary/stress ball as appropriate. -
Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.
Thanks everyone!
Starting TODAY. Obviously was supposed to start yesterday but who starts on a Sunday?!
Been for a run this morning, in the rain, so I'm impressed with myself. I know I can still only run for a couple of minutes without having to stop to walk, but it's much better than not bothering at all.
About to go and do some weights before lunch, hopefully I can get back into the swing of it as I haven't touched them for a week or so.
One thing I need to stop doing is snacking after dinner. It's happening too often, and it's those 500 or so calories that make the difference between losing weight and not. So that has to stop. -
Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.Great effort hun! It's not about how good you are at the start, it's about how much you work to improve(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

What makes you snack after dinner? Perhaps add more meat in so you're full and don't end up snacking? Unless it's not through hunger

Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog. It's never through hunger, it's boredom and the fact that I know we have chocolate in the fridge. My family have got into the habit of opening a share bag of Revels/Galaxy Counters in an evening and passing them round.. and I'm rubbish at saying no. Wouldn't mind if it was only every so often, but it's EVERY night at the moment, which is ridiculous. Not sure why it's started, as we never used to do it. But never mind. I'll have to find either low cal snacks to keep my hands busy, or just other ways to keep myself occupied.(Original post by shorty.loves.angels)

Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.Can I make a suggestion?(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

People who run regularly don't go all out 4 or 5 days a week. They normally have a number of easy runs and then a couple of harder ones where they push themselves.
For the easy runs, you should be barely out of breath; breathing heavily but easily able to talk. If you are starting off unable to run for very long, it may be a good idea to do a lot of power walking i.e. walking at a fast pace to the stage that you are breathing heavily. Even if you can't yet run much, you should be able to walk like that for at least 15 minutes at a time and it is easier to build up on. That type of training should really quickly get you to the stage where you can jog at a canter for 15-30mins at a time. You can mix it up where you intersperse a minute of running with three or four of power walking.
It is probably more beneficial to do it that way than to go all out, get completly out of breath and then have to walk slowly until your heart rate drops. -
Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.Just for an idea, why don't you find something else to do of an evening, like go out for a walk with your family to avoid the temptation of the share bag?(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

Good idea- if I can get the rest of them on board. Although even if I can't, I could still take myself out of the house I suppose.(Original post by Becca)

Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.No probs. I don't really like the word power walking since it puts in mind a bunch of Tara Twiddlington-Smyths hopping out of the Chelsea Tractor with sweat bands and hand weights for a comical stroll round Sloane Square but if you take the meaning of it as I do; i.e. just walking fast enough to get slightly out of breath then you just look like someone walking somewhere as opposed to a Mr. Motivator style gob****e.(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

Kidding of course, I've never been one of those girls, never will be. I don't mind getting hot and sweaty! -

I just wanted to comment on the snack thing. Perhaps, if you are hungry or bored and want to snack, swap the bad snacks for something healthier and more filling, like a banana or a handful of nuts.
One thing I find helps me is not actually having any bad snacks in the house so it'd actually take more effort for me to go out and get some than to just wait until dinner. -
Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.I will try and make more of an effort to do that. I know I should. I can't really remove all temptation as the junk is bought by my family; I'd never buy it for myself anymore. I'm a lot better than I used to be, my binges would be closer to 5,000 calories than 500!(Original post by Sazzy890)

Sometimes though, no matter how much I obsess about it thinking "I want to eat that. I want to eat that. I want to eat that." I just use mighty willpower somehow not to do so. I have to do that at work sometimes because I get so bored lol.

Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.
maybe you could suggest to your family that instead of buying a packet of revels or whatever, they could perhaps buy a multi-pack of timeouts. £1 for a pack of 9 timeouts from iceland/co-op etc and they're only 85 cals a bar, so not too terrible on the waist-line if you only have 1

Re: xoxAngel_Kxox's Summer Transformation Blog.Oh we have PLENTY of things like that as well lol. Last night they whacked the Revels open and I had FOUR. I'd call that major progress. Having said that I was busy so not boredom eating.(Original post by PinkMobilePhone)

Been out for a nice walk this morning, the weather's lovely for it. Not sure what we're having for dinner tonight but it's Tuesday and Tuesday dinners are usually okay!
Going to a friend's tomorrow for dinner and he's cooking lasagne which is great, but he always puts other things on the table as well so I'll have to control myself with that. In the past I would have avoided going at all so I didn't put myself in the way of temptation, but I've improved a lot since then so I feel as though I can go. I will probably leave earlier than most though, as late evening/early morning is likely to be alcohol and junk fuelled! I'm working on Thursday anyway so I couldn't stay late.
