London Olympics 2012 - terrorist threat
I live about 15 minutes away from the olympic stadium in London, and i am very excited, but at the same time scared. With these olympics, the terrorist threat is at its highest risk.
I saw that they have already set up some "rockets" on the roof of some building in Stratford etc. And i also heard they have spend over £1 billion on extra security.
What else are they doing to prevent any sort of attacks.? -
Re: London Olympics 2012 - terrorist threatPersonally I wouldn't tell anyone what I was planning to prevent attacks. I don't see why the MoD need to either.(Original post by Sovix)

Besides the sentry points and Land to Air missile systems, there are specially trained Royal Marine Snipers based on the Naval carrier in the River Thames. Furthermore, lynx, merlin, puma and apache helicopters are stationed on the helicopter or at RAF Benson. RAF Tornados and Eurofighter Typhoons are stationed at RAF Marham for quick scramble sorties and will be patrolling the sky's as well.
Also, in the river Thames the SBS are patrolling. On the land, unarmed police officers and armed police forces will be present in large numbers. Furthermore, RAF, Army, Navy and Marine personal will be present some armed some not.
In case, you didn't realise im a CPL in the Air Training Corps so this is my area of expertise. Hope this helps the security will be tight and you should be fine. I was up at RAF Lossiemouth a couple of weeks ago and they were getting RAF Tornado's ready for the Olympics.
