    TotoMimo's Daily Dinner Debate!
    Who here loves to argue?

Everyone should've raised their hand. Debating is awesome. But debating about food? Oh well, NOW we're talking!!

In this thread, each day I'll suggest a new foodie debating topic, and you lovely patrons of the land of TSR will scrap it out (verbally only... Unless you film it, and it involves bikini girls).

We will reach a valid conclusion at the end and the next topic can start!! I will value each person and point made without bias based on the strength of their argument. Also bribes.

SO LET'S GET STARTED WITH THE FIRST EVER TOTOMIMO DINNER DEBATE!!

TODAY'S TOPIC: BREAKFAST IS OFTEN REGARDED AS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY. IS THIS STATEMENT ACCURATE TO YOU?

Generally speaking, it probably is, but I often go for several months without eating anything in the morning; I don't notice any improvements in my concentration when my desire for breakfast recrudesces.

Breakfast is key to me, mainly due to my training regime but I notice a difference in myself if I miss it.

I would rank it 2nd in meal importance/nicest with dinner 1st and lunch 3rd!

Seems there's a quite noticeable split here. Those of you who believe it isn't the most important meal, is it more due to another meal having greater importance or the fact you don't believe breakfast to have much importance in general?

Not at all! I can't enjoy food in the morning. I can't really enjoy anything in the morning to be honest, but that's neither here nor there. Also I think the assertion that if you don't eat breakfast you're 'more likely' to be portly is complete tosh.

I LOVE breakfasty foods though. Cereal, porridge and crumpets are amazing.

Yes!!! I am grumpy, lazy and inattentive until I have breakfast in the morning. But I can and have coped without lunch before, and I could survive no dinner.

I don't even consider myself to be awake until I've had breakfast. I am merely conscious. It's my hungriest point of the day usually too, it's as if I've been attacked by a tapeworm during my sleep.

Personally its equal to lunch and dinner, if I don't have any of them I'm equally grumpy.

VERDICT: Although not everyone believes it is most important personally, it is accepted GENERALLY in principle to be of greatest meal importance of the day. Many can see the energy benefits of charging the batteries before starting the day, as logic dictates, yet their bodies cannot stomach eating in the morning in PRACTICE. There may be some that value other meals higher but not discount breakfast outright, though they are, this time, a minority.

TO CONCLUDE: BASED ON PRINCIPLE AND CONCEPT ALONE, TSR DEEMS BREAKFAST THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY.

    Monday, 2nd july

TODAY'S DEBATE: Mars revels have continuously altered the contents of the bag, yet the oddball coffee remains despite being deemed "the booby prize". Despite being voted "least liked", do you think it should remain a cornerstone revel, and why/why not?

Oh God, another food based thread for me to become obsessed with - why TotoMimo? Curse you!!

But onto the topic of Revels, without coffee what is the point? Revels are supposed to be fun, a risky game for adventurous people, granted, by now we all know the shapes anyway but that's why you eat them with your eyes closed. There's nothing more funny than your friend's expression after getting a coffee one while you eat your third Malteser in a row, muahaha. And besides, I personally like the coffee ones (although the orange sherbet makes me gag, so it's still a dangerous game). Without the horrible flavours, Revels would just fade into the realms of ordinary chocolates and nobody wants that.

Yes, the coffee revel should stay! Not only do I think this because I am a rare creature who actually LOVES the coffee flavour (yes, there are some of us out there...) but also, it is the basis for a lot of revel publicity. Think back to the advert of the chinese guys battling it out to avoid it? It a USP of the product. What are revels without the controversial coffee? Well, they're just a mixed bag of maltesers, minstrels and chocolate raisins and peanuts. I'm bored just thinking about it.

Ok granted it IS the least favourite, I personally hate it, but even despite that, I think it should stay. Why you crazy person I hear you cry? Well, they're infamous! Who doesn't know of the Russian Roulette that entails when opening a bag of revels? They've kinda gotta stay. And what would they replace them with anyway? It's all part of the chocolate fun trying to avoid the coffee one. Embrace the risky fun and revel in it

I consider myself a fan of words, but I didn't know recrudesce - thanks! Indeed, I was arrogant enough to assume it a neologism until Google helped

I think there is a silent majority of us who DO love the coffee revels and for that reason they should stay. To be honest, if I had to kick a revel out of the bag, I'd get rid of the solid chocolate one which is just boring - revels are meant to be filled chocolates! The strawberry flavour they temporarily replaced the coffee one with was ok but a bit too sickly and similar to the much better orange ones. I'd prefer to see it replaced with something like a piece of dessicated coconut covered in chocolate or even a peanut butter one.

Peanut butter is a good shout! That's the only way I'd be happy to see coffee go, if they replaced it with something totally different from the others. Like...a chocolate ball full of white chocolate

    TODAY'S VERDICT:

Perhaps those surveyed in the official poll were not the core consumer, because by TSR's standard, the coffee revel is loved! Most importantly, we have underpinned the "game" or "risk" element of Revels... A chocolate Russian Roulette if you will - to be the confection's unique selling point. Even those who dislike the particular sweet enjoy the medley or product for not being another safe option.

SUMMARY: TSR BY MAJORITY FEELS THE COFFEE REVEL HAS NUMEROUS MERITS AND IS INTEGRAL TO REVELS AS A PRODUCT, WHICH WOULD BE WEAKER WITHOUT IT.
