HND -> Top up degree
Hi All,
I come to this forum for advice. And never personally needed to post a question as I find what I need the majority of the time.
Basically what has happened is that I have only managed to complete a pass rate at HND level due to numerous reasons including medical that effected my study. Now I want to complete my Degree but not at the current university I am at. As I feel I would reach my potential as the whole faculty is messed up with numerous staff leaving.
Now I have emailed numerous University's who all say I require a Merit grade at HND. Is there any way around this?? for example my medical issues and other factors.
Would I also be able to transfer to a different course? (would it put me in year 2?)
Regards xx -
Re: HND -> Top up degreeOnly the universities themselves can tell you this - I assume that you have explained your situation to them in the initial contact so if they have come back saying that you need a merit then you need a merit, there's no way around it as universities are free to set whatever entry requirements they like. I would suggest you speak to the universities and find out what qualifications they would accept (ie: can you do further study then enrol in 2013?) or also which courses/levels of qualification they would allow you to do with a pass at HND level.(Original post by Relents)

Again, this is something you need to discuss with each university as there is no standard rule and the universities have the final word on the matter. All that could be said here is mere speculation. It could be that yes you can transfer to a similar course with a HND but you still need to have a merit grade, which you don't have.Would I also be able to transfer to a different course? In short, you need to discuss things with the universities as there aren't any set rules.
