    Hey guys,

I currently hold a conditional offer from the University of Nottingham for Economics L100. My offer is for sep 2013 entry. Currently, I am serving my mandatory national service in the Singapore Police Force. I finish my service at the end of the year. However, after speaking to my commanding officer, we came to an agreement that if I have an offer from a university he would allow me to disrupt my service and end in September 2012 (the remaining 3 months would be served upon graduation). Essentially, this will save me a year which will be extremely beneficial for me. I would like to know if it's possible for me to enter this year (sep 2012) instead of next year (sep 2013).

It's possible; you need to phone the university and ask them if they'll let you start this year rather than next. They have discretion to say no, but many don't.
