    Confused about Passport :S
Hey, I'd be grateful if someone could give me a simple answer straight to the point. Ive looked on the direct.gov.uk website and it doesnt answer what I need to know but one of you may be able to.

Me and my boyfriend are wanting to go on holiday this year but he doesnt have a passport. He has the form filled out just not the documents that it says he needs. It says you need both parents certificate of birth or marriage certificate or passport. Well his father doesnt have any and he doesnt speak/see his mother. Do you know what other documents we could provide otherwise I wont get a holiday D:

    Thankyou

Has he ever owned a passport, or is this his first one?

Anyone can apply for anyone's birth certificate I'm sure - as long as you pay a fee. The council issued a copy of mine to my mum, no questions asked. As long as his has his parents name on it I'm sure copies of their will be fine..

    https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/c...es/default.asp

    Phone up 0300 222 0000 for confirmation

EDIT: if you're going to google how to get a birth certificate, as I did for you :P , DON'T go on one of the top sites - http://www.ukofficialservices.co.uk/ it's a scam.

You don't need both parents - just one of them.

You can't just send anything to them... They asked for a parents birth certificate or marriage certificate so you have to send a birth certificate or marriage certificate.

You've asked the question and had the answer and because you didn't like the answer you've asked again hoping to receive the answer you want to receive. (Ha I sound like Donald Rumsfeld and his "known unknowns speech)

Look, it really is as simple as above. He just needs to buy his parent's docs from the GRO.

Good advice above by the way about steering away from some of the other sites who get the docs for you and charge you a fee.

In the time it takes to order from them you could have ordered them yourself directly.
