Can mortgage people refuse you to buy a house if you earn little money?

    Property prices depend on location... yes, very much so. Saying that, you happen to live in one of the most expensive areas in the world but even a few miles away from you (e.g. East Ham, parts of Peckham and Bermondsey) prices are much closer to at least the national average.

    okay, you live in London, probably no houses there for £50k....but you sounded really incredulous at the fact that houses exist for that price. Not everybody lives in London the way you do....
