It will depend on how many places they have to fill and how popular the courses in question actually are. Even 'top' universities aren't oversubscribed for all of their masters' courses, so if your 2.2 is borderline and your application is otherwise strong you might still be lucky (though it'll be safer to email the department before you apply, because obviously you don't want to waste time on an application that's going to be thrown out straight away).
You'd almost certainly have to self-fund, though. -

Re: Grades needed for a master at a top uni?Unfortunately you´ll find that a 2:1 or above is required in most, if not all top universities. If you want to study a postgraduate course consider applying to universities further down the league tables.
