Moving to London - Springboard Urban?
    Hi all,

I searched and couldn't find related threads. Not sure if this is best location on forum for thread, but regardless.

Has anybody used Springboard Urban for accomodation in London? I'm moving over in September to start on a grad scheme, and was looking at their West Hamsptead location. It's pricey enough for what it is - £900/month including all bills except cleaner, for an ensuite. But then that's zone 1 for you.

I'm just wondering whether there are any huge drawbacks that I'm not aware of? Would love any opinions...

That's not a brilliant price for having to share a kitchen. Probably hardly better than you would get renting your own studio flat rather than doing this pseudo-halls stuff, though that is probably a plus to some people.

If you're looking to live with other people I'd recommend trying www.sparerroom.com I'm sure you could find somewhere equally nice, with a cleaner, in a good location for less. It's almost definitely worth paying to upgrade your account though, everything moves so fast in the London market at the moment that a lot of places will be going in a week.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond in such detail. Really appreciate that! You confirmed a lot of my worries, to be honest. It did seem like they were talking it up to more than it could really deliver. At the price, it would need to be perfect - it is essentially student accomodation, after all.

Observatory - true, though this had all bills included, which did appeal. Narcissist - I've been keeping a close eye on Spareroom!

All that said, I am now looking for 2 bed apartments, thankfully. A friend has just got a role with the same company, so I'm much happier now I'm looking for apartments, rather than room lets

While I'm not overly enamoured with the idea of spending that much on rent, at least now it'll be an apartment, rather than a room!
