Re: Accomodation
Hi I paid mine then they told me they want £2000 on the 8th of September (which is before student loans go in) otherwise the room and deposit would be lost.
I doubt many first year students will have that type of money. When I tried to explain my financial situation to them they were not understanding at all and just said that it needs paid on or before that date. -
Re: AccomodationWow, I'm still yet to pay my £300 but that's ****ing ridiculous that they want £2000 as well!(Original post by jay_fezz)

They could at least wait a week or two after we've 'registered' at the uni so most of us have our loans! -
They said to me (the accommodation office) that it has to be paid on the 8th of September and you have to provide proof of your loan. I've emailed and rang a lot of other places in the uni to try and allow me to pay it when my loan comes through but all have been literally no help at all.(Original post by Dween)
Anyone know if they let you pay when the loan comes through?
I barely managed to get the £300 together!

Re: AccomodationI got told the same thing today.(Original post by bethan.wright)
Really? I was told if I paid up until the 17th (student loan day) that would be fine and I could pay the rest then. It's still £768 for me but that's a lot better than £2000 straight up. I'm a bit worried now, I hope that what they said to me is right
You have to pay the minimum of 6 weeks rent to secure the room and also have proof of your student loans. -
Spoke to a few more people after this and they said the same. Thanks for putting my mind at ease though!(Original post by Dween)
