I don't think I'd like to be in a school if I was in the minority... That language thing sounds horrible tbh and would make for a miserable time at school.

So, I went to a taster day at a college and although I enjoyed the lessons as well as liked the teachers. I felt very uncomfortable at times and found it incredibly hard to socialise with the other students as they already knew one another (most went to the same secondary school) and they were mostly Asian. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no racist, I've had to deal with prejudice and racism most of my life and I hate it when people are discriminated because of their skin colour or background. However, I just felt weird being in an environment full of Asian teenagers. I spent five years at a secondary school where there were a mixture of different races and nationalities. I guess, I've just been accustomed to being around white people, black people, Asian people not just one race. One thing I noticed about the students was that they'd speak in either Bengali or Indian and this made me as well as the other non-Asian students (and teachers) feel uncomfortable.

So, what's your opinion on schools which are predominately just one race instead of a mixture of different races to create diversity. Also, the college isn't that far from the secondary school (which was diverse) I attended.
My opinion is that they are probably situated near, or next to an area which is also predominantly one race too, with most of the students being there due to convenience.

I think also initially I'd also be a little uncomfortable too (although I'm quite introverted so when meeting new people that's just normal for me anyway) but over time I dont see any reason why I wouldn't be able to get to know/get along with them...just depends on their personality and how culturally different we are I think. Even if they were all originally from the same school/area, I dont see why there wouldn't be at least 1 person who would be friendly .

In my experience for example, my college had quite a few (not loads, but quite a few) Asian students, and me being me I was being a bit of an introvert and not really getting to know anyone, Asian or not - and in fact one of the first people there to actually come and talk to me was one of the Asian science students . He's now one of my best friends. So yeah really... way I see it it's just an opportunity to meet new people - but obviously it's your decision to make, as you can do that in any college haha.

Well I'm white myself so I don't get any abuse (except people teasing me about my accent -_-)
Teasing someone's accent is still racist you know.
