Any idea what you might like to do for a career?

Engineering (of which there are many varieties) is an obvious choice, given your subjects. You could do anything from chemical engineering to aeronautical engineering.

I think you need to do some background reading on those subjects that you might be interested in.

This will get you started http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_engineering

All engineering subjects have good job prospects, so it is largely a case of working out what interests you the most - planes, oil & gas, bridges etc.

ok, if ur more interested in the chemistry side of sciences, try chem eng, or straight chem. but if ur only doing 3 Alevels, i would advise straight chem. but if u could get the further maths AS, try chem eng but i think if u get 3 A's, ur most likely to get into any uni for straight chem.

try imperial because they have like chem with maths, chem with molecular physics and chem with management!

As a politics student, I'm really not the best person to ask

Why would you let your family's opinions affect your choice? Especially when it's something so random as already having a brother who is an engineer.

Suggestion 1 : ask on the forums that relate to these subjects

    Suggestion 2 : use wiki

Suggestion 3 : look on some university websites on their subject pages

The only answers that I am going to give are (a) drugs, and (b) things that fly. That's about as far as my knowledge goes on this one, I'm afraid.

Are you seriously suggesting that asking these questions in the engineering forum on TSR is less likely to garner an answer than asking in a general forum
