    YouTube Confusion - Help Please

    Hey everyone,

I usually log onto my YouTube account to comment and check my view counts etc, but I took a look into my inbox a few minutes ago, for the first time in a while and I got 100+ messages saying users added me to their contacts. Since when did YouTube have a contacts thing and how does it work? I thought it was just subscribers and friends Can someone please explain how this works? I'm a little confuzzled.

    Thanks

I do not see the point in contacts personally. It's basically just an address book, and if you're in someone's 'address book' then they can spam you and multiple other with the same messages/videos.
I suppose it would be rather useful if you wanted to talk to a few people at the same time, but the contacts system is abused. Randommers usually just add you as a contact and spam you with messages. My advice would be to only add contacts that you know, etc, as it could be quite a useful messaging system.

They are not subscribers or friends, just people for your 'address book', so to speak

I hope that helped a little.
