I've got an offer from a medical school but right now I don't think I've met the offer. The offer is 3 As (including bio and chem). I think I might get anywhere between AAAA to BBBB. Basically I'm quite sure I haven't made it.

What would be the best thing for me to do? I really really really want to do medicine. But I know just how competitive it is (just went through the application process!) and med schools have more than enough people who did meet there offers to choose from.

Do any of them still accept applicants who retake a-levels? I don't want to do graduate entry because that's like 7x more competitive. Is there any hope, or should I give up the dream. Lol so dramatic I know.
Yes some medical schools do accept resitters however they have certain criteria which needs to be met e.g. achieving AAB first time round or having to achieve an A* in the resat subject.
    The following accept resit applicants
    UEA(A* in resat subject)
Lancaster(applicants must acknowledge and reflect on the need to resit in personal statement)
    Liverpool(same as Lancaster)
Southampton(Only one subject is allowed to be resat)
    Peninsula(AAB atleast at first attempt)
    Manchester(?)
    BSMS(?)
Keele (need to have achieved the resit grade before applying)

Chin up. You won't know your fate until results day so don't assume you've not gotten in. May I ask your AS grades? chances are if they're average aaaa grades, you can afford to average out to bbbb in your A2 modules and still come out with AAAA overall. And if they were high aaaa at AS, you can get cccc in your A2 units and still get AAAA overall. So don't sweat it too much if you think you messed up, chances are it won't be too bad.

Having said that, if you do miss your grades, it will restrict your options significantly. Most medical schools don't accept people who take over two years to get AAA at A2 unless they have recorded mitigating circumstances. I think PMS might consider your application, however I'm not sure. There is a table in the TSR medicine wiki that gives university stances on resits, I'll see if I can dig it up for you - it would be worth looking at that and then double checking with the unis you're potentially eligible for to see if they still hold that stance.

However, seriously, DONT PANIC now. I know the wait seems agonisingly long, but try to take your mind off the exam season and enjoy the mega long summer holiday!

Is it not possible to hide the fact that you've retaken? I know its will show up as a gap in your education history but cant you say that you've taken a gap year?

Nope UCAS communicate with the exam boards so they can easily tell. Also when you're asked to show the certificates the discrepancies will show up.
