    Sixth Form Induction Day ARGHHHHH!!!!
I have my sixth form induction day later this week and am a little nervous about it. I will sample AS lessons which will involve biology. I am wondering what is usually involved as I am scared we will have to do a dissection!!! Please let me know what is involved on these days and what you do in sample lessons!!!

Well we just had a tour of.the school for those of.us from.other schools and we're given a timetable of.all.sample lessons so we could go to any we liked. We signed up for forms and just generally got to know each other!

For bio there was the option of dissection. I think they put a few hearts out at the back of the room but there were also text books to look through and students and teachers to talk too. Plus you could come and go as you pleased.

Don't worry, they won't force you to do anything you don't want to do!

Chill! You'll get a timetable, a map, and be paired with someone from the school who knows what they're doing and where they're going (if you didn't attend the school before now). IDK about dissection, that's up to your school, but they won't force you to do it or watch if you don't want to and I'm pretty sure real dissections are a rare thing now.

You'll go to taster lessons, meet some new people and it'll all be fine

Relax induction lessons are just a gentle intro to the subject. e.g for my A Level English Lang, our induction session was making bloomin posters :awesome:

It will probably be a really relaxed fun day and just a chance for you to settle and make new friends

Just imagine you're preparing dinner or something, I didn't do biology but I can imagine (due to cost) that you'll rarely do dissections. I did one during my GCSE's and they said we didn't have to if we were squeamish. You'll probably pair up anyway so just let the other person do it Another thing, I doubt there will be much time to do that anyway as they are only taster sessions, they won't be full hours.
