    From the video description:
Penny called Starkey a "racist" and a "bigot" after he claimed a child exploitation ring who groomed white girls for sex had values "that were entrenched in foothills of the Punjab."

He has no idea what he's on about. None of the people arrested have any connection to Punjab.
Yes that is true, he does have lots of flaws.

Full marks to David Starkey (with regards to this 6 minute video); Laurie 'Penny' Barnett looks like a complete an utter moron. She attempts to personally attack Dr. Starkey from the offset - and then cries about his riposte to repeated attacks. I love the way at the end she attempts to claim that she tried to demand such a high fee they had to refuse her. You can see people who were still siding with her just facepalming. Checkmate Starkey.

I hadn't even heard of her before this and I really don't want to hear her/of her again.

Re: David Starkey vs. Laurie Penny
Starkey's like the school grass, "well I was willing to do it for FREE and she asked to be PAID"

    Big ****ing deal???

Starkey manages to portray himself as a complete bumhole every time he goes on some sort of debate show. When he does his history programmes he's quite good, his series on the Tudors was excellent, he's really good at that and enthusiastic, but he's just that cringeworthy uncle that can't be trusted not to spoil things for everyone.

That finger jabbing was lol though someone should make a gif of it.

I must admit I'd never heard of Laurie Penny before watching this debate (and reading her article about said debate, displaying her journalistic 'skills'). She seems like the type who thinks she is doing society a favour by spouting her worthless opinion through every form of media available. Starkey on debate shows is usually pretty awful to watch (I remember once on 10 o'clock live he kept making quite racist remarks, seemingly without even realising it). Howewever, in this instance he seems to be pretty much spot on. The fact that Penny tried to play the victim card at the end was nothing short of pathetic, especially as she tried (and failed) to launch a personal attack on Starkey to begin with.

I also loved how the "you started it" comment from the audience fitted perfectly with the whole childish nature of the argument .

Penny said she'd upload a video if users donated $100 to Abortion UK. Here's said video:

    Click.
She looks awful in that video. And she looks really tired...

Yeah she's a blogger who scored a gig with a newspaper while blogging was still the new rock and roll... Or something.

Out of the two, which do you think will end up trapped in a haircut they no longer believe in?

I used to like Starkey, until it turned out that he was vaguely racist. And I'm sorry to any feminists around but even more so I cannot stand Laurie Penny, at all. Yes, I know it's an ad hominem but I can't stand her general demeanour; I can't stand that she once put out a job advert offering less than minimum wage and specified in said advert that she wanted a woman for the job; I can't stand her pitiful defence of the Occupy protests; I can't stand her whole "I'm so socialist! Look, I even have red hair!" thing; I can't stand the "I haven't been so thrilled since daddy bought me my third polo-pony" joke she made; I can't stand that she argues against capitalism but credits private healthcare for saving her life and said about her private education, "I see it as my duty to use those chances to contribute to a debate about meaningful social issues, and not just run off and make lots of money in PR or investment banking." So she has a duty to be prominent in the media about social issues because of her wealthy upbringing? That's pretty much the same elite arrogance that people accuse Cameron and Osborne of, except because she's on the left she's meant to get away with it. She's a walking contradiction.
    I'm a Feminist and I can't bear Laurie Penny.

Or Harriet Harman either for that matter.

It's amusing, you have to give it that.

Oh and in regards to whomever stated "That's the type of misogyny she's against" in regards to someones remark about her being "A little whiny girl" that's not misogynistic.

Unless of course you think calling someone an old man, in a derogatory fashion is misandry.

Why did they bring that useless girl to challenge Starkey instead of intelligent people who can make strong arguments?

He wasn't pointing though, he's actually trying to intimidate her with a martial art called 'the chicken'.

Yes, I agree completely about both. I thought though that I might sound like I dislike her simply because she's a feminist, which is not the case.

I just re-read the posts and they are what you said. But they're still not misogynistic.

Oh, I'm not saying that I think you're wrong or right, just pointing out which comments you're responding to. Which is why my contribution is mainly pointless.
