amazon do a trade in system for some books...where they buy your books in return for amazon vouchers...they don't take all books, and some can be stupidly low prices but I got rid of a lot of academic text books for half decent prices

I wanted to but my mum said that the police would get me ¬_¬
I gave up in the end trying to convince her. It is like trying to convince Karl Pilkington that the Taj Mahal is a wonder of the world; won't have any of it.
    Hahahaha! Priceless xD

Basically what i have decided is that anyhting that i don't need but is still useable i'll load up my car and sell at a car boot sale, anything that i do't need but is unuseable is going in the bin. Whilst i'm at it i probably should scrap my old Peugeot as i could probably make £100 or so from it

It seems most book buying websites dont want general fiction books Ive found http://uk.momox.com/ accepts more than the others i found, but only give 9p for most books and have a min. amount of £10 which is a lot of books!

I did this last year and made close to £1000.

Although I would advise you to think hard about what you sell. I finished uni a few weeks back and now have an empty room with a bed to keep me occupied until october.
 How did you make so much! What did you sell as I don't think a load of books from when I was little would make alot of money, even if there are around 100 in total .

Everything; TV, XBOX, Blu-ray player, home cinema, husky fridge, desktop PC and odds and ends.

Now I find myself trying to replace most of these things.

Who else needs to sell a lot of stuff before they leave for uni? Anyone want to join me in a challenge to see how much we can make?
I really ought to do this to. Any hints on what stuff to prioritise?

All the book buying websites are terrible. They only give about 2-3 pounds or so for a book, when they cost me around 15 pounds each. At that rate, I will make almost next to nothing. Seems pointless.

I'm doing this too Although so far I've got 0 bids on anything (a few things have got watchers) I desperately need the money, my work are totally f***ing me over and I haven't worked since the middle of June, so I don't have my wages or anything to get me by! eBay it is!

Hows everyone doing? Ive put some things for sale on a local fb group, but not sold anything or advertised much yet, as I have been working like crazy! (we had an event in work so I worked 43 hours in the last 4 days alone!)

For those of you selling books- look on the amazon marketplace! You can sell there, also often there are options to trade them in (free postage) for amazon vouchers which can help cover the costs of uni books.

I took 20 old kids fiction books to a second hand market stool and got £10 for 19 of them :woo:. Even though it's not that much I was so happy and it seemed like it may have been alot easier than putting them on amazon or ebay or something where you get 9p a book.

I'm considering selling my New Rocks, I've not worn them in ages and I reckon I could get at least £60 for them easily. However, they're so huge that they'd have to be collected, so it might be too much of a hassle...

I'm a bit of a hoarder, I have so many books and CDs that I probably should get rid of but keep saying to myself
"when you get your own place after uni you might want the CDs on display", or
"You might need that book on autobiographical writing even though you aren't taking any modules on autobiographical writing for the rest of your degree.".
I do need the money though, so I'm going to have to try and curb these! :P
