Re: Should I drink?
I am so pleased I found this thread! I have posted a vaguely similar thing in the 'student life' bit in another forum on TSR. I actually got 'neagatived' because I said I don't like drinking! I HATE the way it makes me feel (out of control and sick and dizzy), I mostly HATE the way it tastes (I have found a couple of drinks I like G&T, So Co and lemonade; don't drink G&T if you've never had alcohol before!) and I just don't want to do it . I remember being ripped apart at school because of that, including in year 11 when it was illegal anyway! I can't believe there are so many people on here who disagree or dislike it, it makes me feel so much better.
I can't stand this whole foul, common drinking culture that you need to drink more than you can handle, forget who you are, where you are and who you're with, then throw up everywhere and probably pass out in some foul club toilet whilst at the same time s****ing yourself and waking up in some unknown bed (probably your own/a friends) and feeling like you've been hit around the head with a freight train. This apparently according to a lot of my FB friends indicates that you have had a good night?! I mean how common, and disgusting and cheap is that?!

Anyway rant over and apologies for hijacking the thread a little! If you want to have one or two drinks (stick to the low alcohol stuff like low alcohol beers, avoid bikardi breezers etc because they have a HUGE sugar content so if you're not drunk you'll be high on sugar. All of the girls falling around on these won't be drunk they'll just be experiencing a sugar high) then it is fine. But if you don't then it is equally fine. But stick to your guns and DO NOT let people make you think you're inferior just because you don't want to consume alcohol. You are actually superior because you're not jumping on the band wagon and are sticking to what you believe.
You can have a great time and let your hair down without alcohol, and if you're not drunk and keep you're eyes peeled you'll be the one with all the juicy gossip for the summer! I hope you have a great time and remember you really don't need alcohol to have a good time, if you're confident in yourself then you'll be just fine without it. -
