Re: catjaum a.k.a biggest arms on TSR's blogDear Ceris,(Original post by ceris)
im sorry but i have no idea what you are on about... you are rambling and making some really odd points. i dont even read lad mags or follow football. wtf is wrong with you? you sound stressed
One would be most grateful if you could provide in a following reply scientific fact to support the claim that genetics is a vital factor in body building. I would be ever so greatful if you bear in mind that such evidence should be from valid sources. Whilst I am not enquiring about the world leaders in body building, I am rather enquiring about the average male gymnasium user who is interested in honing his physique and levels of health in the appropriate environment.
I eagerly await your reply and look forward discussing with you the merits of your finds.

insertion points/muscle bellies, bone structure, p ratio, somatotype, height, genetic limit, testosterone/GH levels, etc.
i dont have any "scientific evidence" for any of these, sorry, but feel free to check out places like bodyrecomposition.com and leangains. i guess a lot of these points aren't really relevant for your average dude looking to look better for summer, but for somebody like the OP who takes bbing quite seriously then it's pretty important. -

.
There is very little research directly into bodybuilding by the mainstream scientific community. Nevertheless, the studies linked above/anecdotal experience implies that different people have different responses to training even if most of the variables which can be normalised have been. This accounts for why certain people have an easier time growing certain bodyparts than others etc.
As always, try and keep it civil. -

Interesting read although it's a shame some of the papers can't be accessed as I would like to know all the variables that couldn't be normalised in the tests e.g. weight and exercise history.
From what I can see, I think that genetics only really play a significant part if you want to go into body-building/weight lifting as a career, otherwise just perseverance will see you through. -
Re: catjaum a.k.a biggest arms on TSR's blog
thought id add to my blog because its been a long time....
heres a little bit about how i deal with the obstacles in life that try to prevent me from going gym......i.e the reason most people justify slacking at gym/their diet to themselves.....
1. eating healthy food tastes crap......just force yourself to do it for 21 days (thats how long it generally takes for the human body to form a habit)....and for me that holds true........im just really used to eating healthy an not caring about how my food tastes........cos when u really think about it food isn't really there to be enjoyed.....its to fuel your body......if u happen to like it its a bonus...........
2.but my mates are all getting hammered....yea sure drink once every 2 weeks max.....u gta enjoy yourself....but drinkning more frequently then that will affect your progress....
3. i aint got time for gym.....well MAKE TIME.....i used to go at 6.30am for ages......but now im at a point in my life where i realise some things are actually more important then gym....and id rather spend that time doing something else.......kinda goes against the point of this post but still......its something i stuck to for agesss
4.OMG.....things in my life aint going where i want them to go...im sad.................just listen to some slow tracks and go gym.....and b4 u do that really heavy weight remember the pain u feel cos of what your going through....and let it all out in your set........ first time i benched 150kg i was feeling really down about something...
5.DONT TAKE COMFORT IN FOOD...............in the short term it works.....but if you really wanna change your body...it never helps in the long term......try to find other things to do that make you happy.......
6. and always ask youself after you finish a workout.....could i have trained harder??? could i have done an extra rep on that set...blah blah. blah..................and you'll find you could have pushed yourself that little bit harder.....and next time you train....try and go abit harder.......and never stop going harder..........people get to a point where they stop really pushing themselves after a while and stop making changes...this is why........what worked 2 months ago....wont really work today.......your bodies always adapting.....change it up or make it more intense.....
7. cba...this posts wayyyyy to long now......
gta make my rice and chicken.......why.....cos im just used to it......

Re: catjaum a.k.a biggest arms on TSR's blogWell done(Original post by catjaum)
if your reading this blog, you probably just clicked to see if i did have the biggest arms.....having looked at the pics your probably thinking im right....
BUT....most likely there's someone out there reading this with bigger arms and this stupid statement gives em a reason to enter, and show off their bigger arms...
sometimes i wonder how different the orbit of jupiters moons would be if i didnt have 18" arms....but hopefully by the end of this transformation i have some idea...
more to come soon....
i should add abit about gym though.....
tomorrow legs day

Out of interest, how are you going to maintain them? They obviously require constant work, do you have plans to tone them down in the future, or risk getting wasted muscles :s -
Re: catjaum a.k.a biggest arms on TSR's blogmaintaining's easy.....ive only done about 45mins a week on arms for the last 6 weeks..... and they're still the same.... i still lift just as heavy as i used to....just end up doing less sets then usual.....but i make sure my intensity is right....(Original post by AspiringGenius)

Re: catjaum a.k.a biggest arms on TSR's blog
so this entry is jus a rant.....
why do people give bigger guys respect for being hench........its just stupid
its like an unspoken rule in the gym....the big guys just get more respect (which i kinda understand in a gym setting).....
but it doesn't stop there... even outside the gym.....people just tend to be nicer to u cos ur hench....
and all the skinny guys that r gna jump in an say they dont.....trust me u probably do on a subconscious level .... and if u actually dont...ur jus an exception.....so i dont need u to reply an say u dont.....
for instance something really weird happened yesterday.....and im sure it only happened cos im hench......an its annoying cos sometimes i wonder how different my life would be if i didnt have big arms................
