The way the royals treated her exposed what they really are to the public, but apparently people have short memories and have returned to their usual arse-licking (see Jubilee celebrations).(Original post by Ferrero Rocher)

Margaret Beaufort , the mother of Henry VII
She was extremely influential in the Wars of the roses, she brought about the marriage of her son to Elizabeth of York and so uniting the two warring houses and continued to have influence her over her son and grandson when they ruled. She was also briefly regent for Henry VIII in 1509. -
