    Working at Costa
Got a new job at Costa.

Any Costa employees could provide any advise, dos and donts, I'd be grateful!

    Cheers.

Yeah, went in, spoke to the manager, just acted OTT confident and smiley.

Worked there a few shifts now, its pretty good, sh!ty money and only a 30 min break, but good environment to work in.

When I printed it, it came out FAR too small.

So, I printed it and typed the answers to the Qs on Word, then just attached it, explaining why I'd done it when I spoke to the manager.

Have you worked in a coffee shop before? I hadn't, its all easy, apart from making the more difficult coffees, for instance a flat white.

If you've got half a brain and you're not lazy, you'll breeze it pal.

I was going to apply to Costa but my friend said they won't consider you without experience.

    Did you have any?

    Your friend is thankfully wrong.

There aren't any vacancies but I'm hoping to just go in and speak to the manager. I've worked in a bar before at restaurant but never in a coffee shop. Would love to work at somewhere like Costa, they do so much better coffee than Starbucks (but prefer starbucks deserts)

I'm considering whether to apply for a job in Costa or not. :hmmmm2:

How are you finding it now and is it easy to pick up how to use the coffee machines? Also have you had any experience with difficult customers yet? The thing putting me off the most is the pressure of having to learn how to make the coffees quickly and dealing with customers.

The chief exec lives where I work... he came in today. Bahhh.

Its okay, its not great. its a nice atmosphere but you get some REALLY horrible customers, nasty twenty something b!tches who speak to you like you're scum of the earth. Its very hard work and crappy money. But, if you are a coffee lover, you get like at least three a day and as I say, its a fairly pleasant atmosphere to work in.

Coffee machines aren't hard, just one drink, a flat white, is very hard to get right.
