Yes, it was my first ever cod. Even though I have better memories playing cod4 than mw3, it was one of my first FPS games, there weren't really any games good enough to match it at the time and by the time I got around to MW3 my lust for call of duty had withered, with the deadening regularity of a bad recurring nightmare.
For me; if I go back and play CoD4 now, it's still better than MW3. The guns, the maps, the graphics - everything is just better. There's no over-complication with perks or attachments, or killstreaks and it's just nice and simple. There seems to be a difference with the engine as well. It's the same core engine but CoD4 is just better.

MW2 is also better than MW3 for me. Tbh, I've lost my interest in CoD too. I used to be an absolute warrior on Gamebattles.com (winning online tournaments and allsorts) and play 6+ hours a day. Nowadays, it's just an occasional messabout with mates.

It's fun but often frustrating. It's a mix of both good & bad. If you want to play a fast paced entertaining game with your friends, play CoD. If you want to play a more tactical, slow paced game, play Battlefield.

    Shipment was excellent great fun.
You also liked Wet Work too yeah? You may not like Black Ops but at least the maps on there reward marksmanship, which can't be said for many COD4 maps. Probably why Downturn is so unpopular in MW3. Takes too much effort getting a kill and people can't be bothered or are able to stretch their guns' abilities in downing enemies at real distance. I've picked off plenty of camping snipers at sniping distances with assault rifles and sometimes with SMGs.

I love how CoD is now considered 'hardcore gaming'

    brb Starcraft
brb World Of Warcraft, 200 days spent on characters
    brb Counter strike

    brb brb
Yeah, but only 200 days on World of warcraft? Make it, 10 years of online Gameplay on the MMORPG Tibia and 3 years on World of warcraft.

I've never really gotten into COD. I prefer the Halo/GOW purely because COD (for me) lacks a decent story.

Wetwork was ok, Shipment's far better though. It's a bundle of fun.

There are plenty of CoD4 maps which reward marksmanship. The likes of Overgrown, Ambush, Bog, Crossfire, Showdown, Wetwork itself. They're all a nice mix of close quarter and longer range combat. I mean, Overgrown is a masterpiece of a map. Not to mention that there's far less one bombing on the game than other CoDs.

Bog? It's full of quickscopers but if you get in a good match you can. It's one of my best maps but I don't like the design of it much. Wet Work had terrible spawns for me, especially in Domination so I always backed out if I was given it. I think Pipeline is a pretty good map for marksmanship for COD4 though. The others are okay. I do like some of them, like Ambush (shame I have to endure hacked lobbies where one guy is floating 30m in the air near B flag so I have to take him out with the M60E4) and Showdown especially. I just think, on the whole, Black Ops maps seemed to make marksmanship more "available", e.g. Radiation, Stockpile, WMD, Array, Grid etc. If they gave me an extra kill for going the distance with the weapons the games would be so awesome for me.

MW2 was the best CoD; and it's the only one I can even play anymore.

Thing with Bog is it's nice and open, it's an M16 dominated map, and so are quite a few on CoD4. It's a shame the lobbies have been hacked these days though.

Fair enough with your opinion on BO; I hated the game myself.

MW2 was all right, this new one looks utterly ****!

If you want an fps then either revert back to CS 1.6 or get an awesome pc and get battlefield .

Used to love COD. COD 3 got me hooked. COD 4 blew my mind. After that, it started to go down hill, although WAW was very good with Zombies and flame throwers and tanks ect. It got really bad after that and then I lost interest playing really. That kinda came at the right time for me during me exams so I had a lot of study time, but now I'm simply waiting for results, I'd love to play it again to reduce this boredom, however my play station has broke so I'm stuck!!
