A-level psychology
I am starting my A-Levels next years, and I have chosen: Maths, History, Economics, also Philosophy. However, I have decided to do Psychology instead of Philosphy.
The entry requirements at my school for Psychology is a : CC in Science, C in Maths and C in English. I can meet these because I think I will get BB in Science, A in Maths and A/B in English. ( i have also taken gcse sociology and predicted an A)
However, one thing that bugs me is that whether Psychology is a soft or hard subjects, and if i have it as an AS-Level will universities decline my application. It is also considered as an "Arts" subjects - which i hope you can explain to me. and i have not idea of what russels informed choices say about psychology.
i also plan to drop psychology in year 13, so please tell me what to do -
Re: A-level psychology
Psychology lies on the border between arts and science. It is not an arts subject in the way that, say, History or English is.
Psychology isn't a subject that universities hate, and I got into 3 Russell Group and 2 1994 Group universities with Psychology A2, so it obviously didn't do me any harm. To some extent, they're not really bothered about what your fourth AS is. I got into those universities, despite having scraped a C in physics, which was utterly irrelevant to my degree course.
Anyway - pick whichever one you think you'll like more and will do best in.
