    All my options clash!
    Hello,

Basically, I'm opting for the IB in a new school in September.
I wanted to do, History, English & Geography at HL and Maths, FrenchB and Biology at SL

Now they tell me that History and Geography clash, so I opted to do History over Geography as I enjoy it alot more...though now i need another subject...so I moved Biology to HL and then it was suggested according to the 'blocks' I can either study another Science (NO) or another language ab initio (dont really wanna do)

Would anyone suggest another ab initio language? I just think that on top of everything else it will be REALLY hard with all the speaking and listening and everything...

Or can anyone suggest perhaps moving options around? I've asked the school for the block grids, but they're yet to get back to me!

ab initio spanish is a nice option to take as an ab initio language - spanish (if you are good with languages) is quite easy, especially at ab initio level. i was doing french b but then i switched, changing to biology at higher, and took ab initio spanish, and its completely changed what i want to do at uni for the better spanish is one of the easier ab initio languages that can take a backseat in your ib diploma, IF you do well at it.

Thank you! What other subjects are you studying, if you don't mind me asking?

That last spot is often a lang/science/art spot...if you really want a geog type science...go for environmental systems...its a combnation of bio+geog.

I do exactly the same subjects that you've chosen (apart from Spanish abinitio instead of French) and there isn't a problem...?? Although higher history is quite long /:
