New graduate Student at University of Essex
Hi my name is Gabriel Reznick, I recently accepted an offer from University of Essex for a Masters in Political Science. I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would better to live off campus in an apartment or on campus in a residence. I live across the pond in Canada and am not going to be able to see any places before I start school. I was wondering if the residences for post-graduates were quiter then the residences for undergrads. If any one has any information on this topic, please send me a message or reply to this thread.

Live on campus, you'd struggle outside.

Try not to live in towers, anywhere else is cool.

Quietest would be; Houses or Wolfson Court
South Courts is okay but it's expensive for what it's worth.

On campus without a doubt. It's cheaper and insanely close to the library, gym and lecture halls/seminar rooms.

Tower's are the cheapest but very basic. Pretty sure there is a post-grad tower, but nearly all nights will be quite noisey regardless what floor you're on. It's very basic, 12-16 people per flat but you can look at pictures and such.
