ia 23 too old for student accomodation?
Im going to be starting aberdeen uni in september but im not sure i could handle living with loads of 17 year olds. any1 any ideas where some older students may be living? nothing against 17 year olds just don't have much in common.

Everyone should be 18 by the time they are going (turning 19 through the academic year?), but aside from that I don't think 23 is too old. It really depends what you think you will get out of being in halls. It is a great opportunity to make friends and become involved in the social circles (people I know who weren't in halls missed out on this massively in first year), but if people being up late and drinking is going to really bother you then perhaps it's not for you.
It really depends on your personality.

You will find other 20+ students in student accommodation and both immature 18 year olds and very mature 18 year olds. I really don't think it will be an issue, unless you make an issue out of it, i.e. letting everyone know how much older and wiser you are... Ha.

In Scotland it's fairly normal for people to go to uni when they're 17 and it's not that unusual for 17 year old Scottish students to be at English universities.

Well it certainly wasn't something I came across. Either way, my main points are still valid.

I hope you're not too old at 23, because I'm 25 and will be in student accommodation!! lol I'm at the Unite Mealmarket Exchange flats, and know that a couple of room-mates are 17/18. It isn't something I'm worrying about though, I would just advise that you wait and see who you are placed with - you might just have a ball with the "young uns"
