    Pay Scales - Awkward Management
I've been in this situation for the last month and half and thought i'd ask for your opinion on this situation.

Basically I was employed as an apprentice for 4 years. After the 4 years I was told they were about to undertake a review of the department due to workload etc and they couldn't guarentee me a post at this time so extended my apprentice contract for another 6 months. On the 1st of December 2011 I was offered a job interview and got my job.

My salary as an apprentice was around £12,000 and the starting salary for this post is £16,000 however, this is based on someone with GCSE's and no experience. I have a HNC and 4.5 years experience!
I mentioned this shortly after I got my post and got fed the usual 'recession/workload' stuff and basically I should be glad to even have a job to which I agreed to an extent. Our work load has significantly picked up so I asked after 6 months if my pay could be reviewed. This was agreed and I was asked at the end of May to review the criteria for the next grade and give examples of how I meet it.

I presented a 4 page document on this overnight and submitted it to them the following day. I've asked my manager numerous times but to no avail, he just says "too busy at the moment" or "I haven't had chance to speak with the line manager" This has been going on for over a month now and I'm getting sick! I've spoke to the line manager and he basically said they hadn't forgot about it and would get it sorted but still nothing 2 weeks later.

What are my options here? I'm working far beyond my current scale and I believe every month they put it off they save a few hundered quid I should have in my pocket.

I was thinking about getting the unison involved but I don't want a bad taste on my career.

    Thanks in advance

Re: Pay Scales - Awkward Management
    You either:

    i) Accept the wage they are currently giving
ii) Keep pushing under they make a decision - whether they increase your pay or let you go
iii) Look for the same/another job elsewhere which offers a better salary
