Help me find a laptop for uni :)
My first laptop, I haven't really been up to date with computer hardware last few years and as for laptops im lost.
Going to be studying Multimedia Tech & Design so needs dedicated graphics and such, screen size doesn't really matter due to getting a hdmi and seperate screen for majority of work.
Looking to spend around £500 give or take 100.
Would be very pleased if anyone could find anything better then http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsun...12978-pdt.html for the money.
Thanks in advance -
Re: Help me find a laptop for uni :)That's really only an entry level GPU and from what I can tell is more closely compared to typical Sandybridge integrated graphics than any competent dedicated card. It would appear that for an extra tenner this Acer would be a significant step up in performance.(Original post by Smerky)

Your other option would be to go with Acer, though some heating issues have arisen....upto you

Re: Help me find a laptop for uni :)Well, I'm looking to buy something like that, I'm a PC gamer so the graphics card. RAM and the processor is what I'm looking for too. I also like the fact it's screen is slightly larger than my current laptop 17.3" to 15.6". Do you have any recommendations given I'm looking to spend 1.4k anyway?(Original post by Iqbal007)
No that's a rip off to be honest at that price.
Sorry for hijacking your thread

Have a look these novatech ones, they are built by them, but the price excludes an OS.
Same laptop I believe as your link but £100+ cheaper http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Samsu...UK/version.asp
Have a look on laptopsdirect as well for gaming specific laptops.

Re: Help me find a laptop for uni :)It would be good, just realised more of the new processors in laptops have come out.......not sure on price, but before uni you should see a price drop.(Original post by Smerky)
Do you think leaving it another month before i start university would be a good idea? Does stuff really get outdated so fast that a month could change what i could get for my money?
