Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Of the 22 games he played he only scored in 5, and they weren't important goals. He also missed a penalty in the UEFA cup final shootout then got moved off to West Ham. Not exactly a club legend is he?(Original post by TheCasual)
Davor Suker scored 8 goals in 22 games. Thats not to bad. Grimaldi was a pretty solid back up. Hleb they made a profit on. Senderos was brough as a kid for peanuts -
Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Remember Gilberto? His debut that day...wow...(Original post by TheWalkinDude)
As a young(ish) Spurs fan, it has to be the signing of Robbie Keane (the second time round) was pretty shoddy. Rebrov is definitely up there. -
Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Oh god, I'd tried to forget about Gilberto. Remember how excited we all were when we realised that Spurs were signing a Brazilian?(Original post by Kaz310)

Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?I know...I was equally as excited to have a capped brazilian in our lineup. Glad someone like BAE was eventually found.(Original post by TheWalkinDude)

Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Indeed, I'm hopeful that we'll actually sign Ezekiel Fryers from Man United as back up. He's looked really good whenever I've seen him play, don't really rate Rose so much...(Original post by Kaz310)

Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?I remember Shefki at Palace. Pretty sure the first time I saw him play I thought it was two people inside the same kit. Useless lump of lard.(Original post by DotComBoom)
For Fulham, it has to be Steve Marlet. £13.5 Million for what turned out to be a very average striker which ended with Al Fayed sacking Tigana as manager and then taking him to court over inflated transfer fees.
My other suggestion would be Shefki Kuqi.
Also Akinbiyi. Trevor Francis said he was the best defensive centre forward he had ever seen. What we needed was a CF who could hit a barn door, not who could defend. -
Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Anyone can miss a penality. Still think they're are worse players then Suker for Arsenal.(Original post by Banishingboredom)

Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Agree. I don't rate Rose AT ALL. No idea on what basis to why hes in the GB squad either. If we do sign Fryers, I hope we can get him in now and again. I don't think BAE is going to be able to play all 38 games this year. We were lucky we had him unscathed last year as we had no cover whatsoever for him.(Original post by TheWalkinDude)

Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Julien Faubert maybe? Always thought that was a really strange transfer(Original post by Eldedu)
Real Madrid:
Cicinho
Coentrao
Gago
Anelka
Kaká (arguably)
Gravesen
Pepe (not as much because of how he plays, more because of his tendency to make thick mistakes and soil the clubs image)
and that's just off the top of my head, we're run by morons...
-
Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Coentrao? Are you serious? He's always looked good when I've watched him and I've never heard anyone talk him down. Maybe I've been mislead(Original post by Eldedu)

I don't know if you saw the Bayern Madrid game at the Bernabeu, but he was absolutely pathetic. Most of the time he's not so much bad as mediocre, which given his price tag is just as unacceptable. And I don't mean mediocre by RM standards, I mean mediocre by La Liga standards...
There's also the fact that Marcelo's been in such fine form this season that he looks even worse in comparison. -
Re: Worst Signing(s) in Your Clubs History?Djimi's defending was comedy capers at times but every now and then he'd put in a real shift and have a really good game!(Original post by DannyW94)
You missed out Djimi Traore. I remember being at this game as a little kid - everyone was in complete shock.

Also, his goal line clearance in Istanbul made up for everything.
