Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?
So anyone going to emily Bowes court for september 2012? It's crazy, it nearly seems I will be the only one. Couldn't find a topic in this forum and still Unite website says there are no flatmates for the flat I will live in.
I'm really getting worried the whole building will be empty, since so many people are booking for north lodge, whcih is just in front of it. -
Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?
I don't know, i mean they seem similar and they are one in front of each other. Last year in emily bowes I heard they had a lot of troubles with hot water. But hopefully now they fixed it. So i think they will be about the same.
I decided for emily bowes because hopefully they fixed the water problem, while north lodge is brand new so I feared they may have some troubles typical of new buildings and I didn't wat to risk to be a "guinea pig"/test subject for a new building without hearing from someone who has lived there before. -
Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?
i will arrive at emily bowes the 16 of september (the first day of tenancy).
what about you? When are you moving there?
So is there anyone else in your flat, according to Unite website (flatmate page)?
It seems that in my flat I will be the only person (at least for now). -

I'll be there 16th too. And yeah, far as I'm aware I'm alone in mine. Frig knows why? i was hearing a good while ago how they're nearly full. P.R stunt i assume!
Least i can make music without upsetting the flatmates for a while

Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?I'm not sure why Emily Bowes is so empty, but I have a theory. I think it's because of the North Lodge accomodation they have built. It's just in front of Emily bowes and it's brand new, so 90% of the people are going there (in fact I saw that on facebook and on this forum there are a lot more people going there and very few people to Emily Bowes).(Original post by Andy Myles)

P.S.: There is also a facebook group, but it is for both Emily Bowes, Station court and North Lodge residents:

Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?hello , do you think the gym is a big deal in choosing between emily bowes and north lodge , and what do u think the other differences than the north lodge is brand new ?(Original post by andrespi)

Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?after you register an account on Unite website (and book a room), and after you log in with your username and password on the website there will be a new section called "My flatmates".(Original post by MohamedAli)

About the differences: for me the gym doesn't make a difference, I don't use it.
The following link lists some differences between the two ( it was written on the North lodge topic):

I chose Emily Bowes because:
1) hopefully they fixed the water problem (they had last year), while north lodge is brand new so I feared they may have some troubles typical of new buildings and I didn't want to be a "guinea pig"/test subject for a new building without hearing from someone who has lived there before.
2) Since north lodge is brand new , no one knows how it will be living inside (because no one has lived in north lodge before).
3) emily bowes seemed closer to the tesco express.
4) according to the Unite website, in Emily Bowes there is a vending machine and game room which is not listed for North Lodge.
5) When i booked emily Bowes, it was so early (last January) that North lodge wasn't yet available to book. and for the above reasons I didn't change.
But I don't know, anyway I think the two accomodation are nearly the same.Last edited by andrespi; 28-08-2012 at 07:45. -

Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?I think you can change room after you have booked, but you would have to pay a fee; I'm not sure how much, you should ask Unite.(Original post by MohamedAli)

Anyway after you booked a room, you can only see the attributes (not personal details) for privacy reasons. So things like: vegetarian. non vegetarian, smoker or not and things like that. It doesn't show names or personal details (I think you can't even see the age). -

I posted a response to your other post but just in case; with regards to your flatmates we can’t give you their names and personal details for confidentiality reasons, but you can find the attributes and preferences (i.e. female or male, smoker or non-smoker) of your new flatmates by logging on to your Personal Homepage and clicking on the ‘My Flatmates’ link.
If you'd like to know this information before booking it's best to speak to one of our advisor's on 0800 783 4213 and they'll be able to match you with your preferences.
There are some other UNITE residents on our Facebook page discussing their room allocation, it might be useful to post a message on there; http://www.facebook.com/UniteStudentAccommodation
I hope this helps,

Re: Anyone going to Emily Bowes Court for 2012/13?
hello , how r u , i have a question to u regarding north lodge booking .....I have signed the contract and send it to London@unite-group.co.uk , knowing that my booking will end on the 14 of september . but i did not recieve any reply , and i phoned unite they told me i can wait till i come to london on the 16th to go to north lodge and give them the original contract and make the payment , then now i recive e-mails telling me that i have my room booked till the 14th of septmber , so what i can do not to lose my booking , i am afraid to lose it , and which other e-mail i can send my signed contract to ?
