One Of The Best Ways To Get Any Job You Desire!
Are you unemployed? do you want to work for a good firm? in a well paying job that you like?
Most students these days can only get the basic jobs out their, retail assistant... mcdonalds!!
£6.50 an hr, £7 if your lucky..
whilst the "professionals" are getting £10-15
why is this? speaking as an employer I know experience is king, and students do not have any, it is the work ethic employers look for, as well as being able to cope under pressure and be dependable, most important thing to note is that you must add value to the company.
So how can you get a job at any company you desire? and have the ability to blast up the ladder?
the answer is really very simple, and yet many people completely neglect it, lets say you are applying for a job at Sherpard homes for example, as a manager, you are most likely competing against at least 20 other people for that jobwhich pays £40,000 a year with a company car, pension etc., your chances are slim at best, if your employer hires you they are taking a big risk, they have to sign you up, give you a wage (£40,000 a year., and stop advertising for a position, all this costs a lot of money and considering they do not know first hand how you work they are really taking a gamble and hoping you are a good worker.
do you really think most companies will take a bet on a student? if they do its a bad bet, fortunately their is a way.. volunteer it is so simple, go to a firm and tell them you will work for free, take out the trash if need be, scrub the floors, once your foot is in the door make a big impression, arrive at least half an hour before the company opens for business, at times an hour, stay longer, work harder, and let it be known you are willing to do what it takes, show your strengths, and your determination, now you have become a good bet, so when a new position opens up would the company rather advertise and spend months looking for applicants? or will they give you the opportunity? someone who is working their but off, has shown that they are dependable and have a good work ethic, it is a no brainer.
so what are you waiting for, get out their and help the company! work hard and most importantly be vocal, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK!! always make your accomplished be noted, if you add value to their company they will not want to loose you!
I hope that helps all the unemployed people out their!
the bottom line is always help your company, the more you help them the more they will help you, Be pleasant also, I suggest reading how to make friends and influence people by dale carneigie. great book and if you know people you will always be in a good position financially.
Thank you for listening

Re: One Of The Best Ways To Get Any Job You Desire!
Depends. I think it is a combination of factors to get a job:
1. Experience, like mentioned here
2. Interest
3. An awesome CV
4. The ability to sell yourself
5. Knowing somebody in the company helps (helped me get my last one)
6. Good grades at the highest level possible
7. Skills such as: communication, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, dealing with stressful situations and working under pressure
It's not all about the experience. If you get the experience and work hard BUT can't do the interview...you're screwed. I think it's better to get paid work and gain the experience in that way though...then you prove you're a hard worker with a great reference from that company/business. AND you gain more skills while you're at it. And you have money.
